They have frozen Vault at the frozen coke stand in Animal Kingdom!!!! My DH and DSs discovered it several trips ago....they love Mountain Dew!! Gives them a quick fix!
Very smart post..soda on its own is terrible for you. Add all that caffeine and it's worse. My sisters dermatologist told her all that sugar is bad for your skin too - she kicked her soda habit and her skin cleared up.Do yourself a favor and kick the habit. If you don't have time before vacation, wait until after. It can be done, I had one of the worst Mt. Dew addictions known to man. I would consume between 3-4 liters a day (when I added up the calories that equalled it was astounding). The headaches I would get if for some reason I didn't get my fix were unbearable. I used caffiene pills when I quit, slowly weening myself off over a couple weeks. I now rarely drink any caffiene, and never anything loaded with it like Mt. Dew. It has been a few years now and I feel much better.
Mountain Dew is so high in caffeine by UK standards that it isn't allowed to be sold as a 'soft drink' and has to be sold as an 'energy' drink!
It gives me an instant headache if I haven't had it in a while.

We can only get the yellow kind though, so that's why I need to order Code Red in when I get to WDW!
This strikes me as one of those rumors that gets circulated around the internet, without any basis in fact. I could certainly be wrong, but my guess would be that they choose to market it with the word "energy".
Yeah, MD has more caffeine than most other sodas, but it's not nearly as much as most people think. For a coffee drinker, the amount of caffeine in MD is almost irrelevant.
12 oz can of Mountain Dew - 54mg
12 oz can of Mello Yello - 53mg
12 oz can of Diet Coke - 47mg
12 oz can of Dr. Pepper - 42mg
12 oz can of Pepsi - 38mg
12 oz can of Coke Classic or Coke Zero - 35mg
12 oz brewed coffee - 150mg to 250mg
1 oz Espresso - 60mg to 70mg
So you'd have to drink 3 MD's to get the same amount of caffeine as one normal sized cup of coffee. You'd have to drink a six-pack to get the equivalent caffeine of a venti brewed coffee from Starbucks.

The Hess near DTD is not on Disney property.
That's why I swear it is something more than caffeine that causes the withdrawal headaches - I've never been successful in subbing coffee, cola or tea for Mt Dew to avoid the headaches when I'm traveling. Although at Disney part of the issue is their lousy coffee - Nescafe has only 65mg of caffeine, much more comparable to soda than brewed coffee, and I just can't drink coffee at the rate I was drinking soda!

I used to being my own Diet Mt. Dew until I kicked the habit. THAT was one of the worst 4 days of my life! FLU x2!
Since WDW and Universal sell Coke products, I can understand them not selling Mountain Dew, but what about Dr Pepper? DS is addicted to that and we couldn't find it either place last summer. What's up with that?
Dr Pepper is also not a Coke product. Well at least in the US and Canada.
The whole Coke Dr Pepper issue is complicated. Coke only makes Dr Pepper outside of North America.
After you cross the bridge from Discovery Island to Asia it is on the right.
So, is it an independent product or what? It's never on sale with Coke or Pepsi products![]()

Ok, this thread has made me go out to get a bottle of MD.This strikes me as one of those rumors that gets circulated around the internet, without any basis in fact. I could certainly be wrong, but my guess would be that they choose to market it with the word "energy".
