Does anyone know where I can find a plush toy Remy? (the rat from Ratatouile). I checked both the huge World of Disney store and Once Upon a Toy in DD - even checked at the information desks - nothing. I was told that the France Pavilion in Epcot might sell them. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, are any of the characters from Ratatouile featured at any of the parks?(either as costume characters or in any attractions). Along w/ Toy Story and Nemo, this is my 2 year-old's favorite Disney movie, so I was hoping they might have something...

Epcot Entertainment is about to start a six-month test of a chef's cart (with a chef and Remy) at Chefs du France restaurant.

Remy, in this case, will be a puppet, but he will interact with guests via the chef character. Keep an eye out for him if you're dining there!

Oh ... and at least during the test, you should be able to find Remy plush at the France gift shop.

Here are links to clips of a Remy puppet at Disneyland Paris.
(Rumored to be similar at Epcot.)

I think he might a bit small for many to get to see.

Remy and Emile had a scheduled meet and greet not that long ago, but that was sadly discontinued.

We currently have them in "unknown" status at the character finder - which is a half step from official retirement. I hate it, but am pretty sure that is all but decided.

Thanks for the info - do you know WHEN the Remy puppet is supposed to debut @ Chefs de France? (our trip is April 28 - May 5).

I was kind of surprised that you can't find a Remy stuffed animal anywhere in Downtown Disney. I mean, the film is only a couple of years old, it was very popular and got very good reviews - and my 2 year old adores it, so I have to believe there are other kids who love it, too. Is Ratatoulie just not as popular as I'm assuming?

I was under the impression that the movie had done quite well and was very popular. I wasn't really keen on the concept, but ended up enjoying it immensely.

From what I understand, it is still technically possible for Remy and Emile to meet and greet again, but they are not scheduled to do so. Unlike many others who seem to rotate in and out (or even show up randomly) - such as Robin Hood, Clarabelle Cow, the various Country Bears, etc - I haven't even heard of Remy or Emile popping up in any of the character locations that cater to assorted unscheduleds.

Maybe this will change.

I'm pretty sure I'd read that Remy is slated for the Living Character Initiative treatment...in otherwords, an autonomous, interactive, audio-animatronic character.

That sounds like a really cool thing, but unfortunately we will miss it by a month! (March 8th + 6 months = Sep 8th ending) Any chance it will last longer than the six-month period?

It's Disney, they can do anything they want. :thumbsup2

If Remy is a success, he may be around for a long time.
Just have to wait and see.

Sounds fascinating - can't wait to see how people react to him!

Maybe they've been intentionally not having him out because of such of the difference in looks between the full-size character and the new one?

As for Remy "popping up" unexpectedly, I too haven't heard of anything. The only sightings I've heard of at all were in September at Epcot (for publicity photos, not meet & greets) and the Christmas Day Parade (not meet & greets too).

I don't know about plush Remys but at least one of the stores in France has cheese plates and other accessories. At least they did last time I was there which was about a month or so ago.

Yes ... they have. On March 8, as scheduled.

Does anyone have any more details about this?
Is it during lunch or during dinner?
Do they come around to every table?
Is it just in the middle of the restaurant?
Give us the scoop!

Both

Do they come around to every table?
It's not like a character greeting where they stop at every table, it's more like how the close-up magic guy used to work at UK Pub. They circle the restaurant, do a bit of a show, stop and talk to various guests.

Is it just in the middle of the restaurant?
See answer, above.

I think the time is 12:30-6:00
