I just booked the 11 day Southern Caribbean cruise in June and I have so many questions! We have never sailed on a cruise this long. Are there ways to find out ahead of time things like princess teas, character breakfasts, etc???

We are looking hard at this cruise also so I am looking forward to any info that gets offered up.

Those sorts of specific information can vary from cruise to cruise. So I doubt that you can find that info out beforehand.

The ticketed meet & greets, and character breakfasts are part of the online check in process, so you can get that info once your window opens.

I believe this is the first 11 night Southern Caribbean by the Fantasy, so there's not really anything to point to as how it was done in the past.

Thank you! We have only sailed on 3 and 4 day ones so far so this is amazing!!! So much to figure out!!

I'm on that cruise too! This is a first for the Fantasy so I don't think we will know much beforehand with the exception of what is offered during the online check in. PIF is the 17th and platinum can check in that day so they may be able to shed some light on what we can expect at least as far as character breakfasts and ticketed meet and greets.

Looks like I need to get it booked asap if we are going to do it so we dont miss the platinum check in date.

Yep! It's in less than 2 weeks. I'm just lowly silver so I've got to wait until March 19th. Which actually seems really close to me considering I normally book cruises at least a year out and always feels like it takes forever and this one I'm booking less than 5 months out. I think it will be a fantastic cruise!

I agree with you on this being a fantastic cruise!! We haven't been on the Fantasy in since summer of 2012, so we would really like to take another cruise on her.

We were on her last May for a Western and can't wait to sail her again.

as the cruise gets closer you can call DCL and find out about what nights are the themed nights: Formal / Semi Formal / Dress Up Optional / Pirates / Star Wars etc. That's what we do - helps with planning AND Packing!

RE: Character Breakfasts: in the past if there was NOT 3 days at sea there was NOT character breakfast offered. Things have changed. On our last 6 night cruise I did not see anything about a character breakfast. I have heard over the past several years that there has been ONE character breakfast offered on some cruises and that it has been Disney Jr. characters, not Mickey and the Gang. I think on our 12 night Northern Europe cruise a couple of summers ago we had a "normal" rotational character breakfast (meaning our table number / tablemates / serving team) with Mickey and Co.

Other activities that are not available when doing Online Check In: check your navigator that you get on Embarkation Day. It should be filled with activities that you will have to need tickets for and sign up information.

This looks like it will be a great cruise. We choose to do the 9 night Alaska because the Opening Day (Platinum) cost was WAY TOO HIGH!! The Alaska cruise ain't cheep but it is more affordable. And I can drive to Vancouver.

Character breakfasts are still only on 7 night and longer cruises. But, you are no longer assigned to a specific seating, based on your dinner rotation. DCL found that not everyone is interested in character breakfasts, apparently, and now only has the ticketed event.

You reserve tickets during your online check in process. If there are any spaces left, there may be some ticket availability onboard.

Most often the character breakfast is the Disney Jr characters plus Mickey. But, I've read that the European cruises has the fab 5 characters.

We are thinking of booking this one, too.

I am wondering what they will do for shows and menus - will they be repeated?

I am going to make the assumption that DCL will follow the pattern they set on the longer repositioning cruises. There will be a different menu every night and there will be a different show in WDT every night. No repeats! The longer cruises are a lot of fun!

I'm so happy to see this thread! Our family is also taking this cruise & we are so excited. Excited but overwhelmed-it's been quite a while since we've cruised with Disney. I am anxious to see what other information comes up here, especially about excursions. I've been reviewing them and there are so many since we are stopping at so many islands. Everything looks wonderful! Can't wait to see you all in a few months!!
