I've posted about this saga as it's unfolded, but since my reservation dates are now available, my worst fears have been realized. Here's the upshot:
When Canadian resident tickets came out in March, I went online to buy them, and noticed that it wouldn't let me purchase them unless I put in a reservation date. Since we always go in December, those dates weren't up yet. So I called Disney to ask if I was able to purchase these tickets for dates in December (the fine print on these tickets stated that they were in from May 16 through December 31, 2025 - and this is what it still says on the website if you go to try and purchase them.) The CM I spoke with said yes, and suggested that I put in any date, and then move them forward as my dates became available. So this is what I did; I purchased the tickets used random dates then went in and just cancelled my reservation on those days.
Around the beginning of May, I logged into the app to just get a sense of what dates were currently being booked, and noticed that the blackout calendar underneath my tickets indicated that they were blacked out beginning on December 19:

I called Disney again and explained my concerns. The cast member put me on hold for quite a long time and came back and said that he could see nothing to indicate that these tickets had blackouts during that time and that I should just try to make my reservation reservations when my dates became available, but didn't anticipate that there should be any issue.
Fast-forward to yesterday, when I go in to make a reservation, as December 19 is now up. It is crossed out, like there's a blackout on these tickets. So I called Disney and again I get put on hold, the CM comes back to say he can't see any issues with the tickets, but that they could be pulling from a pool where the reservations are all gone. This would really surprise me given that I am six months away from this date and immediately went on to get these tickets, and he acknowledged as well that all reservation being gone would be unlikely given how far out we are. So I suspect they're blacked out. He tells me that possibly it will just take a day or two for these to show up, and then I should check back, but but if they are blacked out, I could call back and exchange them for regularly priced tickets. I said that I am not keen on doing that, given that I would never have purchased them had I known that there were blackout dates, which are not referenced in anyway on the fine print on the ticket. In fact, if they were blackout date starting December 19, why would it say that the tickets were valid to December 31? I said that if it turns out to be the case, I will ask that they be refunded, at which point he reminded me that these are nonrefundable tickets. I really feel however, that the fine print on the tickets was extremely misleading and should call for an exception. I looked again this morning and now the 20th is crossed out - so there's no way this is a "reservations haven't been released yet" issue - this is a blackout.

I find this so frustrating, given that I have had THREE CMs look at the fine print on these tickets and tell me that there should be no issue with my dates. What should I do?
