DH and I haven't been to Universal since 2002 (when we got engaged :goodvibes). The only places I have eaten at are Mel's Diner and Nascar Cafe (can't even remember where we ate at IoA!)

We're going in November for 3 days - staying at Royal Pacific - with our 2 kids (age 4 and 8).

Is the character meal in Seussland good? (I am a *big* Dr. Seuss fan...so is my son!!)
What about Mythos?
Do you find the "meal deal" to be worth it?

What are your favorite places to eat?!

Thanks!!

For me in IOA it just has to be Mythos.
In US I like a sit down lunch at Lombards Landing.
At CityWalk I love the Latin Quarter, but I don't think it will be good with young children.
At the Royal Pacific I love Tchoup Chop and Islands.

The food at US is actually quite good. We like Mythos for lunch. We usually eat dinner at CW. Our favorites are Pasta Amore, Hard Rock, and Bubba Gump.

At IoA, Mythos is excellent if your looking for a nice sit down meal. For a quick meal, I prefer the burger digs in jurasic park. Big burgers, fixings bar, and the outdoor balcony seats offer great views of the park.

At City Walk our favorite is Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. The music is relaxing, the nachos are the best anywhere. They usually have a couple people on stilts making baloon animals/hats for the kids and kids at heart.

At Royal Pacific, the breakfast buffet in the islands dining room was amazing, but a little pricey. Definately worth a try one day though.

Not sure about Universal, I tend not to eat in that park. I have tried Finnegans and Lombardo's. Both were good, but not amazing enough to draw me back.

At CityWalk, we usually go to Margaritaville or Bubba Gumps.

Park food in IoA and US is just awful and overpriced, in my opinion. I'd stick to the CityWalk eateries if possible.

I've never done the meal deal because my favorite park restaurants (Mythos at IOA, and Finnegan's at Universal) are excluded from the meal deal list.

So my favorite places to eat:

IOA - Mythos (sit down restaurant).
US - Finnegan's (sit down restaurant), Louie's (counter service) and the Nathan's Hotdog Stand in Amity.

Citywalk - Margaritaville, The Latin Quarter, and Hard Rock Cafe as my top three. Emeril's and Bubba Gumps make my honorable mention list.

RPR - Emeril's Tchoup Chop, Island Dining Room (have only done the breakfast buffet, but IMO it has the best breakfast buffet of the 3 Universal hotels), and Jake's American Bar (opens at 3pm in the afternoon).

Sal's Deli at the Portofino Bay hotel. Awesome pizza.

City Walk: Bubba Gump's, for good theming and good food.
IoA: Three Broomsticks, for excellent theming and okay food. Not done Mythos yet, but want to.
US: Not Mel's Diner. Okay theming doesn't make up for bad food. No other recommendations....

I'm going to put this in my signature since I always recommend the same places...

CityWalk: Margaritaville
Studios: Louie's (counter) and Finnegan's (table)
IOA: Thunder Falls Terrace (counter) and Mythos (table)

We really need a dining sticky since this question seems to get asked every other day.
