Where Are Your Favorite Places To Dine, And To Snack At Dl. And At DCA?

My favorites are:
Rancho Del Zocolo , they have really god Mexican food.
The menu is very big and it is all very fresh.
Cafe Orleans, I love it when I am feeling lazy and want to be waited on. I love the Vegetable Ragout. I almost prefer eating inside because it is very quaint and quiet. They have good coffee and wonderful deserts. It is cool too to see the Mark twain River Boat floating by as you look out the window. When it is super hot, the air conditioner is nice and when its cold, its nice and cozy inside.
The crepes are pretty good too. We just wish they would add more to the menu.
Dfi is from New Orleans so he loves it very much.
We do love BB but the last few times we have gone, the food was TERRIBLE. But that was last summer. So, maybe it has improved. I just dont want to risk 100+ hoping it will be good. But the atmosphere, the best ever!

That is too bad, and I am sorry that the last several times that you had dined at BB, the food was hideous, that establishment has a menu that is just pricey enough, to where the food should always be as delicious as possible.
I would most likely return the bad meal, and ask for something different, and of course not expect to see the bad dish charged on my bill. For it is one thing if you eat what you did not like, then expect not to be charged for it,however it is an entirely different matter, when you take one, maybe two bites, then feel almost ill, or your taste buds are beginning to revolt, otherwise, guests need to be satisfied!

You are so right. I have such a hard time returning food. I dont know why though. Seriously, there has to be a finger in my soup before I will return something. It is something I need to work on. Luckily I rarely dislike something food like. We did how ever complain about the chicken legs at Plaza Inn. The food was soooo salty that we did feel sick. When Dfi told the manager, the manager actually confessed that he had never eaten the food there. You would think that a manager would try all the food to make sure it didnt taste bad.
I would go back to BB to have dessert though I mean how can you mess up ice creme?;)

Thats funny! how can you mess up ice cream? I would figure one would have to try pretty darn hard! ;)

Anyone else with tasty additions or comments/reviews, if you are a foodie, or even if you are not, please let us know what you like and what you don't care for as well. :)

Add another vote for Hungry Bear. I like sitting on the top deck against the railing. I like the ambiance better than Blue Bayou mostly because I can see my food. 33 is ok... but there really is nothing special to the restaurant. Checking out Storytellers Cafe during the next trip. From what I have read it could end up as one of my favourites.

i liked the sandwiches at the place next to gibson girl (i remember it wasn't cheap!!). we also loved blue bayou, the prime rib was awesome!! my oldest son loves the gumbo from the take out window next to pirates.

this next trip we're gonna try to hit rainforest cafe and goofy's kitchen. and of course make ps for blue bayou again.

and of course the kids always go for the popcorn and churros.

Wine Country Trattoria was really good when we went to DLR last month.

I wish Dl delivered menu items! :)
For I would for example, like to have one of those tasty looking chocolate mickey ice creams, about now, would be nice, when can you deliver? ;)

I have heard several very good to great reviews for Wine Country Trattoria, and have seen that restaurant on t.v. the dish's shown, looked so very tasty! my mouth is starting to water, a bit! ;)

My favorite in the park restaurant is Carnation Cafe on Main Street. The price is great and the food is very good.

Honorable Mention:

Rancho Del Zocale in Frontierland

Red Rockets Pizza Port in Tomorrowland

My goodness, Disney has so many good places to eat.

Disneyland:
Blue Bayou- porkchops
Plaza Inn- fried chicken & pot roast
Rancho del Zocalo- carnitas (I only get this when I'm in the mood, but it's sooo good)
Cafe Orleans- monte cristo
Little Red Wagon- corndogs of course!!!

DCA:
Boudin Bakery- clam chowder bowls (lines are way too long at DL)
Award Weiners- chili cheese dogs
Corndog Castle- obviously corndogs (again w/ the delish corndogs)
(I usually just eat @ Storyteller's Cafe in the GCH whenever I'm in DCA)

Snackies:
Dole whip or float-DL
blueberry crumble shake-DCA
3 berries and a banana smoothie-DCA
firehouse 105-DL
frozen banana
funnel cake
churros and popcorn are always good!

Any more tasty thoughts and ideas?

-River Belle Terrace for breakfast
-Cafe Orleans
-Plaza Inn (pasta!)
-Hungry Bear -- More for atmosphere than the food. Not that I think the food is bad, but really what makes this place great is sitting on the second level next to the water.
-Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen

-Getting a Dole Whip and either sitting on the Tiki Room lanai, or heading over to Carnation Gardens and pulling up a table to watch whatever performance is going on on the stage.
-Getting a mint julep and sitting just about anywhere in NOS!

Yumm! it all sounds so very tasty! I have not tried the mint julep as of yet, I know there is no alcohol in them, so I suppose that is good! ;)

I love the second level of the Hungry Bear. I could spend hours there in the shade and enjoy watching the Rivers of America.

Blue Bayou is my #1 choice. I will never forget the romantic meal my husband and I shared there. Also the food was incredible!!

It's not in the park, but it probably has to be Goofy's Kitchen because of all the characters!

We have always been on a search to find a good place to eat that wasn't TOO expensive.

It used to be DL seemed to have the same food everywhere. I never did like the Tomorrowland pizza. That was when we discovered a fun 50's cafe at the DLH. It had a juke box, and great prices. It is gone now. :sad1:

Then we discovered a Pirate bar/cafe outside of the pool at the hotel that wasn't croweded and didn't cost a lot. This was before the whole place became a "resort" and most people who weren't staying at the hotel didn't think to go eat there for lunch.

With Downtown Disney and DCA, there are now many more choices. We like the Rainforest Cafe. And the last time we ate at the Mexican place in DL and liked that one too. Also must have an ice cream cone for one meal at the train car in DCA.

Not interested in eating in a "wine country" place down there since we live in wine country and can eat at one any time. :lmao:

This trip we are going to try Whitewater Snacks and Taste Pilot. No BB this time since we need to save the money.

:cutie:
