to tell your kids they're going. I cant find them, we are going in like 45 days and they still don't know. Thanks I know there were like 3 of them last dec. Thanks again.
Oh, I didn't know that. I could have used the help when I was trying to tell my 8 year old great nephew in September. I bought small items, toothbrush, paste, shower soap, deo., journal, and I wrote him a note ( he thought the stuff was for school for phys. ed) typical 8 year old the note was on Disney paper...I got the best picture of him when reality hit and let me tell you, he was so excited..I also put a Mickey tin( from a previous trip) in the bag with some change to start "his Disney fund" We were at a family picnic, so he started out by asking everyone for money, he started with MY husband Don'tcha just love it?? Maybe someone will give you other ideas. There is also, a GREAT design on the Creative Design thread. It's by Pat'sdesigns..it's an iron on and it says: Surprise we are going to Disney World and she will put the date on it...I am getting that for my granddaughterEnjoy....
We surprised our boys twice. The first time (spring break 2006)we told them we were going to our family cottage (which we have to drive past on the way to Florida). It is only 1 1/2 hours away (and Disney is 16 hours away). We drove for 7 hours (yes....7). Every so often they would say "Aren't we almost there yet?" and we would just say "a little farther". They had no clue. After 7 hours we stopped at a gas station, got gas and then got back into the car and I said "Dad and I decided we are not going to the cottage. We're going to Disney". My DS7 (at the time) said "do we have to?????" (he had his heart sooooo set on fishing he couldn't even comprehend Disney) and my DS12 (at the time) was speechless....and that never happens. It was priceless. We were hoping they would go to sleep before we told them which didn't happen. Then we decided to tell them so that they would go to sleep....That didn't happen either
The second time (4th of July 2007) we planned a surprise trip we woke them up 4 hours before we left for the airport, gave them a note from Mickey and a list of stuff to pack. They kept running around the house yelling "really??? really??? really??" They had no idea!!! we also surprised them because our friends went with us. We didn't mention this. Our friends just showed up at the airport.
The best part is that everytime we are going somewhere the boys look to see what is in the back of the car....it could be a suitcase. If we are in the car too long I'll say something like "maybe we're going to Disney". Sometimes they'll say "no, we have no luggage" other times they'll say "really?" They are kept off guard and we'll be able to surprise them again. It was soooo much fun!!
