Where are all the Louisiana WDW lovers? UPDATED 1ST POST WITH DATES!

Super cute! Hey Tiger Kat, you have any pictures you want to share with us who are STILL waiting for our trip to roll around?

Hi, we're at WDW now and the weather is glorious!! Beautiful, cool, cloudless, days and chilly nights.

Last night, we went to the MVMCP and it was wonderful. We walked onto every ride, saw the shows, watched the parade, fireworks, and had pictures taken. I had thought we'd need 2 nights to see and do it all. It was a pleasant surprise.

This morning at DHS, my daughter and her friend rode RnR 2x and Tot 3x w/out FPs. We used the FP for TSM.

Tonight, we 're going to Epcot. We've decided to do the late night EMHs and sleep in instead of the other way around because of the low crowds.

That's all for now!!!

Here's a pic from our mini DIS meet, OhMari, Camster0307, TigerKat, FormrCastMbr & podsnel.

WOW I haven't been on this board since early OCT and I had a hard time finding this thread.

I just wanted/needed any advice for my trip for mardi gras. I'm very very late in getting started with the planning because we didn't know for sure if we were going back this soon. We are driving from Baton Rouge to Orlando. Anyone else going around this time?

sassysasha---
we're driving from thibodaux to orlando on feb 21, and staying for mardi gras week. we usually leave around 3:30am for the drive there.

we usually go in late JAN, but this year the boys are in kindergarten, so we're going when school is out for the week of mardi gras. my friends usually go mardi gras week, and she says the crowds are not bad, there are just a lot of people from louisiana there that week.

3:30am sounds like a good time to leave, last time we left around 10pm. I would rather leave early am like you instead of late pm.

I just found this thread and had to reply! I couldn't remember if I've posted or not, so I'll do it again. :)

I'm Courtney and I was born and raised in Louisiana. Denham Springs to be more exact. I was pretty excited to see that there are more people on the forums from Denham! I'd love to meet some of you!

I'll be going to the World again on Febuary 21 - 28 in order to avoid Mardi Gras. ;)

SOOO I'm not taking a trip to disney per say but I am applying for the Disney career program :D so I might be down from Feb. thru August!! I'll be one crazy cajun working for disney!

10/17/09-10/25/09 Beach Club Villas & Royal Pacific Resort!

My mini trip report:

The weather was beautiful.

The Dolphin is fantastic!!Great restaurants, large rooms, Epcot area and MUCHH cheaper than WDW resorts in that same area, best of all is the attentive staff.

WDW-low crowds because we left the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The MVMCP was lots of fun. Discovered Mexican Cantina counter service-excellent food!
LOTS of smokers-tons of them. Honestly, I smoke 1/day and not everyday and I choked a few times. Smokers in lots of the lines and most not in designated areas. I have never complained about smoking but I have to say this was the worst that I've ever seen. I saw someone tell a CM and the CM shrugged his shoulders.

You have to try the T-Rex Cafe. Fun atmosphere, food is delicious, great location at DTD. Ask for Sean if he's still there because he was the best waiter.

Stayed at the Royal Pacific from Tuesday to Friday. What can i say except it's FABULOUS. We love the hotel, the staff, and the front of the line access at the Universal parks. It's so nice to be able to sleep late and not have long lines. A large section of IOA is inaccessible because they're building the Harry Potter area. Saw no smokers.
The friend who came with us said she thought the themeing at the Uni parks was better than Disney. I agree.

Thanks for the trip report! These are the kinds of things that get me through until our next trip. :thumbsup2

TigerKat is going to Royal Pacific Resort in 2009!
