When you wish upon a star..Hannah's make a wish trip

I'm in for the ride too! Your kids are beautiful! Your first trip!   I love hearing about first trips!

Then next day he came home from work and said he was sorry for looking at me weird..his work buddy who has been to Disney several times told him I was not nuts! I guess if it comes from his work friends he will assume it's actually important and not just me being obsessive.:headache:

Well, I am sure I will get back to obsessing over Disney soon. This week should be busy though. My 20 year high school reunion is this coming weekend and I am on the planning committee. Also my best friend in the world is moving away to North Carolina next week. We had a going away party for them last night and I am still holding back the tears.Oh well life goes on. I am so thankful that we have this wonderful trip to look forward to.

My husband is the same way. Somehow if the information comes from anyone else, it must be true!

So sorry to hear your best friend is moving away. My best friend moved away a while back, but we're still really close.

Have fun at the reunion!!

Hannah did end up missing the last two days of school.:( I took her into the Dr yesterday and she ended up having a sinus infection, Pink eye and strep throat. I knew something was wrong when she didn't want to eat for three days.Believe me that child does not miss a meal! She is on antobiotic now and should be feeling better soon I hope. I was also concerned because she is scheduled for Oral surgery next week. She has to have seven of her baby teeth pulled.Hannah does not loose her baby teeth easily. Her permanent teeth grow in too and there is no room for anything. She ends up with "rows" of teeth. So her dentist was holding out as long as possible hoping they would fall out on their own...no such luck. After they pull them they will be placing spacers which look like retainers on the roof of her mouth and also the bottom.Hopefully this will guide the teeth into the open spaces and make her bite straight.I am a little nervous for this procedure,it should be no big deal but it's her first procedure where she will be awake and not done in the OR.(they are doing it in the office) I guess she will be eating lots of popsicles for the forth of July! I am just glad we are getting this done now and not too close to our trip. I can help but wonder how she will react. She is usually very good at the dentist but she did bite his mirror once and broke it in half! The last time they tried to do an impression she bit down so hard it drew blood on the hygenist's finger.I felt so bad but she didn't do it to be mean, she was not liking it! After assuring the hygenist that Hannah has had all her rabies shots all was good! They hygenist realized that she shouldn't have had her fingers there but I still felt horrible. They usually give her versed before her surgeries and it makes her act like a drunken sailor.Fun times! I will keep you all posted.;)

I finally made my way over here!!!! Sorry it took so long...been kinda crazy latley! Great job on your Pre-TR!!! Can't wait for more!! popcorn::

I finished reading your trip report and was almost peeing my pants reading it. I LOVE your sense of humor. At first I was like, no one can hate Disney, but then realized your hubby is probably a big push over just like mine.Paul likes to talk big but he is really a pussycat.I am happy that he does admit he is going full on disney tourist this trip.I think he really wants to get caught up in the magic too even though he may not admit it yet.I wish you could have seen his face when I told him I had applied to Make a Wish.He tries not to get too excited about things until they actually happen-but this time the grin did not go away for a long time.

Thanks about my friend. It will be really hard but we will always be close.I used to do daycare for her kids and I am godmother to one of them-it's going to be difficult watching them grow up in pictures.I guess it will just give me an excuse to plan vacations from now on.They go to Disney every year.Maybe once we save every spare penny we can meet them there...I sense another trip in the making....I have not even been yet and I am already plotting on how to get us all back there!

Ok all, I need your help. When we return home I plan on taking our pictures and making a slideshow of them.I often use the site Onetruemedia.com and they usually come out really nice. That way I can send it to family members out of state and they can get a little glimse of what our trip was like.I need help with the music choices. So far I have thought of "when you wish upon a star". I am looking for songs that are related to wishing or magic.Something that will convey how special this trip will be.Disney music is great but it does not have to be.Any suggestions?

"A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" - talks of dreaming, wishing AND it's CINDERELLA! There are lots and lots of versions of the song too!

Let me look through my itunes and I'll come back if I find some more sugestions.

My DD's recital was to all Disney music this year since her studio performed at Disney. Her ballet song was absolutely beautiful. It's called Snow White by Peter Pan Kids. Itunes does not have it but I downloaded it from Amazon Music. It talks about overcoming hard times...might be appropriate.

OH and don't forget the song from WISHES

What a lovely family you have!

My nephew was born with 6 holes in his heart but didn't find out about them until he was 8 weeks old. Found out about 1 murmur and they sent him for an echocardiagram and the doctor didn't like what he saw and sent him to a specialist who looked at him and scheduled him to have open heart surgery 2 days later. That was when we found out that he was in heart failure and not "the lazy baby" one of the pediatricians said he was. Anyways......

Can't wait to hear more about your trip! I'm getting excited for all of you!

I found this cool song for you.

Penny Wishes

© Bill Walsh/Chris Lockheed/Paul Kreuzer/Randy McGowan
Performed by Memphis Exchange

When I was a little boy my mamma used to say
If you find a penny when you play
You can make a wish upon it if you pick it up
And all your penny wishes bring you luck
Even though I'm grown up now I still play that game
And every wish I make I say your name
Yes every time I find a penny I still wish for you
And wish my penny wishes would come true

If I ever hold your hand we'll wish upon a star
When you're closer I won't waste to wish upon
anything that far
I wonder if you ever wish for me
Or is this just a wish for fantasy
And if I ever really get to spend some time with you
Then I know my penny wishes would come true

If I ever hold your hand we'll wish upon a star
When you're closer I won't waste to wish upon
anything that far
And if my penny wishes bring me luck
Each penny will be worth a million bucks
And if I ever really get to spend some time with you
Then I know my penny wishes would come true

Yes if I ever really get to spend some time with you
Then I know my penny wishes would come true

Thank you , that is so sweet! Wow, how is your nephew now??? I hope his heart repair went well. That was the same thing with Hannah, we had no idea she had Down syndrome or a heart defect. Her delivery was very scary because they didn't know and we almost lost her at delivery.Hannah was pretty much in heart failure from birth until her surgery. That was seriously the hardest thing i have ever experienced in my life.We couldn't leave the house for fear of her catching a cold, she used to struggle to eat and would turn blue.Even harder was handing her over to the surgeons to do the surgery, not knowing what the outcome would be.Fortunately she made it through with flying colors!

Great music suggesions everyone! I Love them, thanks so much and keep them coming!

My nephew just turned 9 in May. He is great now! When they did the surgery 9 years ago, they were able to repair everything except for one hole b/c they couldn't get to it but they felt 100% sure that it would close up on its own. He only goes to the cardiologist once a year now and the last visit they didn't see/hear it at all. He will continue to go for at least 2 more years (I think) just to be sure that it has definitely closed up. My nephew doesn't have Down's Syndrome but has Cat Eye Syndrome. I'm no expert on CES but I was told by my sister that people that have this can have trouble with several organs and his heart and intestines are what were effected. He had malrotation of the intestines and had intestinal surgery at 2 years old. He is completely fine with that now too.

We tell him all the time that he is truly a miracle b/c we came extremely close to losing him (and not knowing it). We know that he has to be destined for GREAT things.
