When you stayed at WL...

1994 - Honeymoon - Room 1027, courtyard view with king bed and large shower (it was our HM). Could walk out balcony door and right to pool without going through the rest of the lodge.

2002 - Room 4113, courtyard view with one queen and a set of bunks. Could see EWP from balcony.

2003 - Room 6060, standard view with one queen and a set of bunks. Had view of castle, fireworks and could see the otter pond off to the right and saw otters.

2004 - Room ?????

2005 - Room ?????

2006 - Room ?????

ETC, ETC, ETC!!!

RM 5153
COURTYARD WITH QUEEN BEDS WAS ALMOST ALL THE WAY DOWN THE HALL. COULD SEE SOME OF THE FIREWORKS OVER THE OTHER WING

I'm going to try to jog my memory here:

May 1999 - 4th floor, Woods view over the otter pond, Queen Beds

May 2000 - 4th floor, Woods view, I think it was room 4034 near the stairwell. Never again by a stairwell. All we heard all night was the door opening and slamming shut all night. Why anyone would use the stairs instead of the elevator is beyond me.....

Dec. 2001 - 5th floor, Woods view directly over the otter pond, Queen Beds

May 2003 - 7th floor, Woods view, Room 7060. Great view of Castle and fireworks. However, looking down you would see the service area. When we were there, we heard nothing from the service area.

Dec. 2003 - requested Woods view, north side. We'll see what happens :)

The WL is my favorite resort, and I've stayed there twice so far.

The first visit, I was on the 3rd or fourth floor, overlooking the pool area. It was beautiful, sitting on the balcony at night or in the morning. Absolutely loved the room.

My most recent WL stay (Nov. of 2001) started on a bad/odd note. I was travelling solo, and was given a room on the ground level. From the bathroom layout, I'm going to guess it was a handicapped friendly room. It was smaller than my previous room, king size bed (previous had been two queens), and the "terrace" was really more of a patio, being right on the ground level, with the footpath running between the lodge and the villas beyond the shrubs. I thought I would absolutely hate it. My first reaction was to consider calling the front desk and ask them to change me to a different room (I'd requested a courtyard view, which I suppose, technically, it really was).

Well, by the next day, I'd fallen in love with my little room and it's cute little patio. It wasn't quite as spectacular as the 3rd floor, with it's view of the pool, but the room was charming, off the beaten path, in a quiet section, with a door leading right outside very close by. I wound up absolutely loving it!

We stayed in room 6012.

It was a woodsview room - we were upgraded from standard, which was a very nice surprise.

It was queen/bunkbed, nonsmoking. My guys loved the bunkbeds. The view was wonderful - the castle, fireworks and otter pond. We were close enough to the elevator but not too close. The room was quiet yet convenient.

Next time we stay at WL (soon, hopefully!) we will request either that room or a room as close to that one as we can get.

I can't remember the room #, but it was on the 6th floor with a standard view. We could see the bus stop. It was fun to drink coffee and have breakfast and see all the early risers starting off their day and boarding the busses.

4145 - (courtyard) queen and bunk beds. Could see lake, first half of the EWP, pool - blocked somewhat by the birches, the garden area around the falls (couldn't see the falls cause they were pointing in the other direction). Liked this room a lot, but kids hated bunk beds :-( so we moved to 5031. 4145 was a south wing room, a little beyond the falls. Could see upper half of MK fireworks over the North wing. I liked this room, but would have preferred to be furthter down since I love seeing people having fun in the pool.

5031 - (courtyard) two queens. corner room. I think the balconies are too close on the corner rooms. I could see right inside to the other rooms bed. I'm sure they could see in our room too - not much privacy. Nice view - could see pool, again the pool was blocked by some trees, but you could see the pool chairs really well :) View was looking onto the outside seating/eating area near the Roaring Forks. Could see the first two parts of the EWP.
At the end of the hallway so we were right next to the ice machine - could hear it grumbling when people "tried" to get ice - this ice machine was broken a lot.

4034 - (woods view) - 2 queens. End room. Could see castle, Contemporary Resort, Space Mountain, Astro Orbitor and monorail. Corner unit looked out to the otter pond, but if you looked to the left you saw the yucky service area.

We stayed in room 5082, free woodsview upgrade from standard. :) Our room was nonsmoking and had one queen and a set of bunks, which my kids loved. I don't know how we will ever stay in a room with "normal" beds again. DS will be 10 on our upcoming trip, and sleeping with your 6 year old sister is just not cool.

As for views, we had the best of both worlds. Out our front door was that fabulous lobby, and in the evening we could see the MK fireworks from our balcony. The location is very central too, not really a long walk to anything. I really hope we can get the same room or one close to it on our Christmas trip. I'm paying for that woodsview this time!

#7044

This is concierge level (hence the 7..) woods view, 2 queens, non-smoking. It offers a great view of the otter pond as well as MK with great fireworks viewing.

We stayed at WL for the first time this past June. Room 5012, non-smoking, overlooked the otter pond. Could see the castle thru the trees. Queen and bunk beds. Great location (once we figured out the right elevator to take) - the nearest elevator discharged in the lobby near Roaring Forks and the laundry and pool. Hopefully we can afford WL on our next trip in 2005, and we'll definitely request to be in that same area again.

I will be making my first vist to WDW, Jan.27-31 with my husband and two boys, ages 4 and 2. I rec'd the "Winter Dream (?)" discount. Would the AP discount be better based on the past rates? I originally booked the AKR but after reading everyone's posting I became a WLer (I hope I made the right decision!!!) How is the WL's concierge floor and service? Is the silver package worth it? Can anyone recommend a room # or location for a view of MK's fireworks and the boat parade from the hotel? Thank you!

ejaye, room 5012 Woods view would be perfect for you! It is woods view with a view of the Otter pond(As Amy states). The bunks are sooo cool for the kids and it gives you more walking space in the room. You can see the fireworks, but I am pretty sure you can Not see the electric light pageant! Most rooms that face the lake are courtyard view! If you do Concierge, that is different story! There are various views in Concierge! Ask Majestic about Concierge. With regards to the silver plan, we used the Silver plan Aug., 2003...it was wonderful. You really have to know how to best use it though! In order to benefit from it, you have to dine at the more expensive restaurants and spend time eating courses. I liked knowing that everything was paid for...including the tip! We even paid cash for a few of the children's meal($5-10), and used their wishes for more expensive items like legacy tiles and adult meals.

For those that are standing, please hold on to the handrails as we are moving to the front.

we were given room 1165 on the ground floor, which faced the pool. Our room was on the very end of the hallway and the other side of one of our room walls was the hallway to the exit to the pool deck.

We could have used the sliding glass doors as an exit but we would have had to walk 4 steps over pine needles in bare feet so we mostly used the hallway entrance to the pool. This entrance to the pool deck was right by the pool bar and towel bin. It was a quick walk to Roaring forks (via crossing the pool creek bridge).

If you have children and plan on using the pool the location of this room is very convenient. I was glad that we didn’t have to ride the elevators and hump around the hallways in bare feet and a wet bathing suit.

This was a non smoking room with 2 queen beds and our assigned housekeeper did an excellent keeping the room clean, fulfilling our requests and making towel animals!

Look for my Sept 20 to the 27th 2003 Wilderness Lodge trip report on the trip reports board

When you stayed at WL...
What was your room number? 6001

What view did you have?
(standard, woods, courtyard) Woods view overlooking the villas.

What were the bed arrangements?
(queens, King, bunks)
Two queens.

Smoking or Non-smoking?
Non-smoking.

What did you especially like about the location of the room?
I liked that we were close to the elevators, but I had requested to be on the other side of the lodge facing the MK and I was a little disappointed in that at first. But I never sat on the balcony. I was so tired at the end of each day that I just fell right to sleep and had no time to enjoy the balcony.

Next time we stay here, I will be going with a courtyard view. I would rather look at the pool area and maybe have a bit more noise than look at rooftops and the villas.

I also would try to get a king room or a room with the bunks because I felt that the rooms were small, especially with a one year old. He had no where to really roam. It was too confining. Actually the next time we go (aside from my trip in February with my choral group) we will stay at the Polynesian or a home away from home where the rooms are bigger. JMHO.

June, 2002 so I can't remember the number. It was on the 7th floor courtyard view. You looked straight down and saw the brook and bridge maybe over it. If you looked to the left you could see the pool. You couldn't really see the the whole pool, you would have to hang of the ledge.
2 queen beds.
It was nice, castmembers were outstanding.

...you are TOO funny!

AC ~
Jes' thought I'd stop by to check out de place!:hyper:

Room # 7129 (I am pretty sure) It was a couryard view. We had booked standard with 1 queen bed and 2 bunkbeds. However when we went to check-in all these rooms had been booked so they offered the 50.00 per night upgrade to Concierge! Now I agree that the food was great however I didn't like sanding at the rail to see the view. However if you want privacy these balconies offer it. ::yes::

We liked where our room was located. In fact we liked it so much liked it so much that we have ressie for WL Jan.1-5.:hyper: :sunny: :hyper:
