I voted combination.

I use my reusable bags for most stuff, but meat products get plastic. I don't worry too much when I get some plastic because I use these to line my small bathroom trashcans, use as trash bags in the car, and they are what we use to take out the cat litter.

Cloth bags here - Whole Foods gives you 10 cents for each bag you bring in and reuse for your groceries.

Plus they hold so much stuff.

I love my reusable bags. It is good to see so many people bringing their own bags into the stores

I use plastic bags, because I RE-use plastic bags for about a billion things in my home and classroom.

Plastic here too. Sooner or later I'll cross over to reuseable.

For those of you that use reuseable bags, how do you give them to the person bagging? I've been thinking about bringing my own but don't want to just give my big wad of bags and them look at me like they're supposed to be folded or that I'm supposed to help.

I either hand them to them or put them on top of my purchases.

I also use a combination and recently bought a whole bunch of Target ones. They had really big, folded ones on clearence and they hold a lot of stuff. I leave them on the back seat of my van and usually sit my purse on top of them so I will remember.

I use reusable bags that were give-aways from various work conferences. Also use brown paper bags which I can recycle or donate to the local thrift store. Use plastic for meats and recycle those for car garbage, doggy waste, etc

We use reusable bags. They hold more and that means less trips between the garage and the kitchen!! :goodvibes

We use plastic for anything that doesn't fit in our reusable bags or if we forget them. And like other PPs, we reuse them as small trash can liners or as lunch bags for work... but never at the same time! lol

We are all re-usable! We have a bunch from different places and have few in each car for unexpected grocery trips and then the majority are in a basket at the house for our big grocery trips.

I voted other since I use whatever kind of bags the checker puts my groceries in. I'm definitely not a grocery bag snob.

I use paper bags when I need them for my paper recycling at home and I use plastic when I need "poop" bags for Baxter.

I have re -usable bags. I keep them in my car. sometimes I forget them and have to go back to get them out of the car!
i love the big sign going in our trader joes, its a reminder if you have your bags in the car to get them:thumbsup2

Some paper, some plastic, some reusable. It depends on where I'm shopping and whether or not I need plastic bags or paper bags.

I have reusables from IKEA, Fresh and Easy, and Safeway. I prefer the canvas of the IKEA and F&E bags. The IKEA ones are huge and 3 can fit a week's groceries. The F&E are a really nice size--a little easier to manage.

Reusable are cheap and not inconvenient. I just keep them in my trunk.

I just give them the big wad of bags. Maybe I'm a cretin. Often I just put them on the conveyor belt before the groceries.

i try to use reusable bags at our local grocery store, but they always give me annoyed looks and audible humphs. it's very bizarre. :confused3 considering that it's much easier for them to deal with the big reusable bags than try to open a new plastic one for each and every item they bag.

How do you like Aldi's?? We are getting one in the spring, is it nice??

I ADORE Aldi's!!! It definitely has a smaller selection than a regular grocery store but you can get all of your staples there for like half the price. I once bought an entire cart of groceries there, heaped over the edges with stuff underneath the cart, and stuff in my hands because I ran out of cart space for $70. It's AMAZING! Then I go to Lowes or Harris Tetter for anything i need that they don't have at Aldi's

I have some from Costco that are huge and great for carrying a lot of stuff. I use them for my chocolate fountain, it fits perfectly.
