My favorite is when we sailed the Wonder last year and it was my DH and DD first time on her. When we got on the ship my DH looked at me and said,"We are never sailing another cruiseline again". He had sailed on Carnival the previous 2 times.
OH MY....it was like i was a kid all over again, I as sooooo excited. And it ws not even the boat i was going on. when we drove into port canaveral the Magic was at the port that saturday. We were going out on the wonder. All i could say was ... OH, Look..Da Boat...Da Boat. DH thought i had lost it. Of course i was on my cellphone with a fellow disser saying I see it i see it.. Da boat Da Boat.... I cant wait to see Da Boat again.. only a few weeksa way!!!!
OK now i am getting all excited again....woohoooo... it is almost time!!!
Ok I will fess up... When I first saw the Wonder I almost drove the van off the road!
We had made a wrong turn, I was a bit flustered, and then I caught glimpse of the Wonder and Like a horse often does, I turned the the direction I was looking.
Thankfully I recovered quickly and we made it to the port with no one hurt.
I'm so glad other people feel this way...
I don't cry - but I get giddy and giggly and there are butterflies in my stomache!!
When we went in March, we were on the DCL bus from the airport, and I was so amazed at how blase so many other people on the bus were!
There was a larger group traveling together with a couple of the gals talking non-stop on their cellphones, and you'd have thought they were going to the mall.
DH & DD and I were glued to the window!! and literally bouncing in our seats when we first saw the Wonder!!
It was wonderful getting to finially see the ship after waiting patiently for so long for the cruise date to get here. It was even better though being able to see the look on your childrens faces when they first saw it!! My 11 yr old daughters jaw just dropped and she could'nt stop smiling!! I have to say Disney deffinately knows how to do things!!
I can totally relate to everyone. I have a question? My family and I will be staying @ 20 minutes away from the port the night before. Is there more then 1 way to travel to the ship to see this amazing sight from the bridge or the road? I would hate to miss any of the excitement by going the wrong way.
The first time we cruised, we stayed near the port. I woke up the next morning and went out to Dunkin Donuts for sandwiches while my husband stayed with the kids and got them ready. On my way back, I saw her from a distance as I was going back to the hotel and I floored it! My heart started to race and I got so excited, I almost killed myself running upstairs with all of the dang food. I was pounding on the door and the kids must have thought someone was chasing me because I flew into the room and started screaming! I've never seen my kids move so fast!! We cruise again in April and I'm SURE that feeling will be there again.
I'm going to be a WRECK. I cry just thinking about it!
We're Florida residents, and hubby offered to bring us all out there last weekend to watch the Wonder go out to sea, but I told him no, because I want the kids to see the boat for the first time when WE'RE sailing! Only 14 more days, and I seriously can not wait.
