My husband and I were supposed to celebrate our 15th anniversary back in November, but we had to cancel last minute - my FIL tested positive. We now have to book a trip to use that money, and we’re bringing the kids now. I’m a teacher, so we have to go when the crowds are high. Which one of these would you do and why?

Spring Break (flower and garden but no tron or guardians)
July (hot, but could stay longer, probably no new rides either)
Thanksgiving (great weather, high crowds, no festivals)
Week before Christmas (high cost but great weather, new rides will be open, Christmas festival)

I’m torn. Leaning towards July or Christmas. Still bummed about missing Food and Wine, so being there during a festival would be nice. We’ve been during all of these before (except week before Christmas). This will probably be our last trip for awhile. Kids are more excited about Harry Potter now, which makes me want it to be a special trip.

Have you been when Christmas decor is in full swing? I'm guessing you have, since it's usually all in place well before Thanksgiving. But if you haven't, I'd pick Christmas.

When is spring break for you?
If its the week before or after Easter I'd skip that time.
If its not one of those weeks then I'd do spring break.

I have gone in July 3 times and hated the weather all 3 times.
All 3 times there was 3 times the amount of rain than should have fallen in the month with it raining all day long every day.

Been at Christmas a few times and I'd avoid it if possible.
Weather may not be perfect either. Has been cold and/or rainy in my experience.

When do you go back to school in the fall?
Where I live school starts the day after Labor Day.
I've gone to WDW a lot in the last week of August and absolutely loved it each time.
Hot and rainy but the rain only lasts for 20 minutes at a time.

I would do Thanksgiving we have been there 5 times that week including this past one and it is crowded but manageable. They have the Festival of the Holidays which usually begins on Black Friday with food booths, holiday storytellers, and the Candlelight Processional. Some years it has started a different day.

We went one year when our spring break hit the week after Easter. To me, it was busier than the time we went at Thanksgiving. I’ll never do that again. Ours is always the first week of April. We go back to school the first week of August, but since I’m part of our new teacher team, I go back in July. We’d go the week after July 4th. We get out at Memorial Day, and we’ve done that week before and it was lovely. My daughter has camp that week though, so it’s out this year.

Spring break would be the obvious choice if the new rides would be open. My husband is having a hard time booking a trip that close to when they open and missing them (which is what happened with ROTR and he’s still sour about it). If I can talk him into it, I think that’s what we’ll do.

We just did Christmas. The weather was great. We don’t do well in heat, so summer is a no go… I would pick Christmas. Also, new rides are a huge plus.

I vote for the last week of June going into July. You’ll get the last week of Flower and Garden. The weather will stink but you can stay longer.
