With another storm on the way here, just wondering when these missed days will be made up? We are already scheduled to go until Jun 22 as it stands now and if they miss any days this week, looks like we will be at 3-4 days to make up. I hope they dont take it from Easter break . We are headed to Disney for Easter and its a surprise. Suprise may be on us if they cancel the break

We are going until June 3 or 4, but we started August 10. They are taking all except Good Friday and Easter Monday from our Easter break.

Our hometown is in south central PA and there was an article in one of the local papers recently about when each school district would make up the days. It's spread out over a few months. Some are making up one or two in March, some are using a day or two in April and the rest are using a day in May and a day (or two if necessary) in June.
I'm not sure what their "last day" of school is because it varies from one town to another. They aren't tacking them all onto the end.

Our school year doesn't end until June 25, and I don't think too many kids would be showing up for class if they tried extending it beyond that.

We had 3 snow days allotted for this school year. We've used two, and are on a two hour delay right now. There is probably about 5 - 6 inches of snow on the ground, so it's a toss up whether they'll be able to get the kid in today or not. There is another storm forecast for Thursday and Friday, and it's supposed to be a significant one.

Our Easter break is from March 29 - April 2. If we go past our three snow days, we'll lose March 29, then the 30, and then the 31. They don't have a plan in place for anything past that.

Snow days are part of the reason that I stick to the summer break for our vacations. Our break is in the latter part of August, when we get the free dining, and I KNOW school isn't going to be in session.

For once we haven't had many snow days. We live in Maine and usually have quite a few but this year the snow has missed us and we have only had one snow day (so far).

Anyways our school district ALWAYS adds the days on at the end of the year. They never ever do make up days during winter/spring break or any other holiday. Apparently if attendance across the school district doesn't hit a certain level then the day can't count as a school day. They discovered years ago that when they try to do make up days during previously schedule holidays that the attendance is so low that the day then doesn't count.

Our school builds the 5 snow days in already and any unused days are deducted from the calendar. We have used 2 so far...looks like we'll use at least 1 this week....let's hope for a delay!

If we have snow days here in the Orlando area, we're ALL in trouble!!

But, the school systems (at least Seminole County) have hurricane makeup days the week of Thanksgiving. So, my DD ended up with a whole week off at Thanksgiving.

So far this year, we've just had one snow day (not unusal to have a few), so no make ups are planned.

We are going until June 3 or 4, but we started August 10. They are taking all except Good Friday and Easter Monday from our Easter break.

Our last day is now June 2nd...the day we're leaving for Disney. It's a half day of school anyway so no big deal...mainly goof off and clean out your locker kind of day.

I thought I was okay leaving a week between the original end of school and when we left...started to sweat it with those two big snows had.

We still have our "Spring Break" which is the week following Easter.

Our kids have lost most of their spring break to make up for the snow. They now only get a long weekend (off Friday and Monday of Easter weekend). They have also added 3 days to the end of the year. In addition, they have taken away all of our half days...even though that doesn't officially count towards the make-up days. It just adds more instruction time.

We're going until the last Friday of May right now but we've already used up our 13 (yes, 13) built in snow days. I believe if we miss any more, they are going to start taking spring break to keep up from going into June.

Right now the kids have 1 day off for spring break. They were scheduled to have 6. They are pretty unhappy about it. We are in Western PA.

Here in PA , we take days away from our Spring Break week.As of now we lost one day only. The other snow day was made up on PResidents Day. At this point there may be little to no spring break. They do not extend our school year. We start in August as it is

Our school district in DE hasn't announced yet if or when we will be making up snow days, they are waiting til we get through winter. So far we had five and with this next storm at least one more if not two. What it sounds like they will be doing here is adding it to the end of the year, we are supposed to end on June 2 so they might extend that week.

Our schools here in Nebraska made up our extra by having the kids go 15 min early and stay 20 min later each day for 2 weeks. Was kind of a pain, but the kids/parents adapted to it fine and hopefully we are done with the big snows for this winter- but I have a feeling we have not seen the end of the white stuff...

Knock on wood, we have not had any snow days this year. Even though we have gotten quite a bit of snow this winter, it hasn't been so bad that school had to be closed. My DD8 had mentioned that she is hoping that they don't have any snow days because she doesn't want to make it up in the end (June 4th).

They've already made up the snow days we had in the middle of December and beginning of January. They had 5 built in but we went 6 so far. UGH They just took away the "political" days off. IE: Presidents day, Martin Luther King, Jr day. They set it up so we now have one day left, if we have any more snow days we'll be in trouble. Our last day of school is still May 27th.

Our schools have built-in snow days. If they go over the alotted number for the year, they tack on @ the end of the year.

Of course, for some of us who homeschool, there's no such thing as a snow day!!! :lmao: (Drives DD11 crazy!!)

Well Plano isd in Texas use to have snow days in the middle of the year but this year from some reason they are putting it at the end of the school year. Being born and raised here in Plano I didnt even think about look at the school calendar for snow days bc I just assumed we will have it for Easter Holiday. So we are supposed to get out of school on June 3rd and now we have one snow day make up for June 4th. I booked our Disney trip for June 4th-11th. So I guess my son will now miss last day of school and have an unexcused abstinence. Oh well, it's for disney and he is in Kindergarten!

I don't know. Actually I think we've only had two snow days so far, and I think we have four built in.

If they have to make up days, it will be at the end of the year. My kids already have a screwed up schedule due to a teacher strike. Their last day is currently in the middle of June.
