Life won't really be 'back to normal'. It will be a new normal and, likely, a very different normal. It is likely that it won't even begin, in earnest, until fall. People are going to be very hesitant (for a long time) to go anywhere that has large crowds, e.g., Disney World. I just think of when we were there in February and were in a crowd of several hundred packed in like sardines waiting to get into Magic Kingdom. Who in their right mind is going to want to do that in the near or not so near future? Same with going to sporting events, theatres - both live and movie, concerts, conferences. The list goes on. And with a place like Disney World with guests from all over the world? No thanks, anytime soon.
I’ll just leave this here:

It appears a lot of people in or out of their right mind were quick to return to being in large crowds in China.

I am truly expecting work life (teach at public school) to be back to normal May 4. Not that I want it to, that’s just what I’m feeling will happen.

As for leisure life, I guess the first things that would actually happen would be eating IN a restaurant and not only getting takeout (no delivery where we live). And this is something I expect to happen as soon as it’s allowed and my faves are open.

As for casually browsing/shopping at malls/shopping centers. It really depends on economy and money situation. I’m realllllly missing movies at the Drafthouse, but again, don’t want to be too frivolous with money.

Before we’d frequently take weekend road trips a few hours away, sometimes to casinos. Real vacations were summer and spring break, sometimes during fall break and winter break depending on $$. I don’t see any vacations happening for at least a year. I’m really missing Louisiana, Vegas, Santa Fe, well all of New Mexico, WDW and can easily name off the first things I’d eat in all those places.

Full and immediate return to normal life the day restrictions are lifted. Local baseball games, Disney, etc... We didn't eat out much pre-COVID19, so that won't change after restrictions are lifted, but I wouldn't avoid it either.

How long will we wear masks in public? If schools open and we all go back in a couple of weeks, will masks be the new thing?

I would think masks would be required for schools that do go back. Encouraged for the rest of goings on for a few months and when “Covid season” starts

Yeah, I don't know that I'll be hurrying back to Disney if they implement those kinds of measures. Too high a chance of something stupid, like sunburn which is practically a given for me any time I set foot in the state of Florida, ruining the trip. But that'll ultimately depend on whether they try using thermal sensors and where they set the threshold that raises a red flag.
I heard a news story about a worker at GM being sent to the nurse b/c he had a temp of 120 on the thermal scan. Obviously his temp wasn’t that high. He actually had a normal temp & the thermal scan was picking up his cup of coffee in his hand.

I plan to resume most activities as soon as it’s allowed to do so. I was always very hygiene conscious as far as washing hands etc so I will continue that as usual. Plan to go to WDW in July if open & if not, whenever it does open.

I plan to be in Tiger Stadium for the first LSU home game. If that doesn't happen then fine. I'll put my refund for tickets in my Disney trip savings.
Dh said he heard they may play the season in Feb if they aren’t able to start in Aug. Supposedly they need to make tyr decision by end of May.

I'm down for whatever. I'm not going to lie, being in DV in September sucks. I hate it, but I will not miss that flag being raised!

DS works at a college & goes to grad school at another. If he's told he can no longer work or go to school from home, I have no doubt he'll be wearing a mask & gloves for several more months.

Location will most likely make a difference. Our safety requirements are more strict now than they were a few days ago.

I agree it def is not going to go away.

That’s correct.
When restrictions are loosened, it will not be because the the virus is going away. It will be because the curve is flattening and cases are manageable in the local health systems. There will continue to be more cases, just not all at once as it is now—as long as some form of protection is being kept up, ie. wearing masks, or social distancing, etc.
