What would be your best educated guess as to when SSR will sell out? Does anyone know when BCV (last resort sold)
was sold out? :moped:

SSR probably won't sell out for at least 3 to 8 years. They are still putting buildings up from what I gather. BCV sold out because its a very small DVC resort. Not sure of the time frame though. There are roughly 220 rooms available at BCV, 440 at BWV, and maybe an SSR owner knows how many units are there. BCV and VWL are the two smallest and hence sold out quick.

SSR has about 500 some rooms. I think it will take awhile to sell out. I am sure they were able to haul though with this last promotion they are having.

For what it is worth, my guide did mention that they are selling SSR pretty much as the construction occurs and expect that it will sell out by the end of 2007, at least I think that is what she said.

:cool1: I believe BCV sold out in one year or so. I would guess SSR would take another 3-4 years, but they could push it with more promos. :cheer2:

That is good to hear, my dad has been looking into the DVC since we got back from our trip over winter break. We watched the DVD and he just got the information in the mail. I really hope he decides to join, that would make me very happy!!!! :Pinkbounc

wdwgirl, if your dad doesn't know about the friends and family promo where he can get 15% off instead of the $8 off incentive, you might want to let him know. It is a significant savings! However, it ends February 1st. All he would need is the name of a DVC member to get in on the deal.

Ok, as for the sell-out, I've heard that within the next 2 years they expect SSR to be completely sold out. I believe they are working on the finaly Phase III of the SSR construction project (which I think is adding just under 200 more rooms). I think that puts the total somewhere in the 800 range (the biggest DVC thusfar, OKW being 2nd). I'm trying to recall this from memory so my numbers might be off a little.

I wouldn't be suprised if they announced that SSR sells out later this year or early in 2007.

Does anyone know the total number of points by resort? They certainly are not yet selling phase three - I would guess they are around 50% so far. This is going to take years to sell out. I would expect that the current program will be followed by a price increase and yet another promotion (netting out once again to the mid-$80's). They have programmed us to expect these discounts.

SSR is on pace to sell out in 2007. We bought SSR in 2003 so the resort has been selling for quite some time. I think Brownie said something about 3-8 years, ignore that, :rotfl2: that GUESS isn't even close. Call a guide if you don't want to chance being closed out.

My guess is that SSR will sell out well before many think. Disney has agressively pushed the resort with freebees and special programs. Many of these have been significantly better than they ever offered for BCV, VWL or BWV. The F&F deal is fantastic and I would assume has been huge for sales. My guess is they will announce at least one new resort by the end of this year. Possibly by Summer.

As many have said, BCV sold out in about a year. I think it was towards the end of 2003. I know I bought in January 2003 and added on in March when I heard they were running low on August points.

All I'm doing is passing info that was passed to me. Yes SSR is building phase 3 but also the previous phases aren't completely sold as of yet. Disney has yet to dump some completed inventory into the system...they use those as rentals, so when they do that and add in the new phase III your looking beyond 2007. I could be wrong but thats what I was told. Also as time goes on and inventory is depleted the price will rise......

Brownie, sorry if that sounded harsh before, it wasn't intended to. The confusion here comes from this. The 3-8 years was the estimate DVC gave in the beginning for the total time SSR would take to sell out. They based this on time frames the previous DVC Resorts had sold. When I bought in at the end of 2003 sales were way ahead of projections thus the reason they expanded the original plans. SSR is on pace to sell out by the middle to end of 2007. If they ofer another really good incentive I wouldn't be surprised if it sells out by the end of 2006. We shouldn't worry, however, because I'm sure they will unveil new plans pretty soon with ground to be broken near the end of 2007. They will always have a new resort to sell for the foreseeable future unitl sales slow. As things stand now there original estimate of 3-8 years is on target. It looks like it will end up being 4-5 years with a 2007 sell out date.
