Based on what's available, I would like to do a management internship, preferrably in hospitality (that would be my top choice). I'm also interested in Guest Relations or Event Planning and I was previously offered a Data Collection Specialist position, so I might consider applying for that one, but there's a good shot that one will be cut.

There are still not many internships posted on the site and none in the position I am interested in applying for. This makes me worried that they cut all the internships for that area and I won't be able to get an internship now.

hey...my boyfriend applied for the CP last week because pro internships hadn't been posted and he was getting concerned with what to do following graduation in May. My question is now that they are posted can he still apply although he applied for the CP? Thanks!

Yes, for sure. If he gets accepted to a PI, the CP is understanding of that and it's not an issue.

97% of all PI's were cut, what's up is likely to be it considering some decisions are being made by March 13, and the cut off for all applications is then...g'luck to everyone

thats crazy...
but true.

there is so few postings...even in california....but i want to go back to florida....
i hope they accept me....

Here's my suggestion, if you can't find a PI in your field, then go for a CP, you can always apply for a PI at the end of your CP. But if you find yourself in the same position, extend your CP again then apply for a PI.

Loopholes like that are magic. :wizard:

Heads up - you cannot do the CP, extend, then apply for a PI. You can only be on a student program for one year and that would be a year and a half.

Also, if you want to do the CP into a PI I would suggest AGAINST the advantage program. While in most cases you'd be fine, there is a chance that your PI would go past the year mark which could (not definitley) take you out of the running for that specific position.

Interesting, considering I know people who have done the CP, extended, and then applied for a PI and they got it. Perhaps the people who hired them were in error?

I've always been under the impression that a CP and PI are two entirely different kinds of student programs, therefore you can apply for a PI after an extended CP, at least this is what my recruiters have said.

My daughter was told by her supervisors that she could do PI after doing a CP and extension. Now I have heard that you can't. Interested in seeing how this goes....:confused3

my two friends that are doing their second run at PIs say that you can easily apply after your regular college program.

one is in the Vacation Club one the next level....
i guess there are different colored levels until you reach full time/or permanent status

and the other is in the highly sought out 'wedding event planning'

i cannot wait to see them if i can make it!

aww!

I believe it depends on how long the extension was granted. While there isn't a time limit perse, there is a limit to how many programs one can do in a row. If your friend extended from a Spring/Fall to Spring Advantage/Fall Advantage, then he or she would be able to do a PI since it is part of the same "Program." But if he or she extended his or her CP for a whole additional semester [thus participating in a Fall and Spring Program] he or she would not be able to do a PI.

You cannot do more than two consecutive internships, whether that be two CPs or two PIs or a combo of both.

That is what I was told as well... by the professional recruiting team (which is different from a College Program recruiter). During my interview they had to double check my CP dates to make sure they wouldn't put me over a year, if they would have I would have been removed from the applicant list.

Hey everyone. So...I just checked the site and there are a few more internships posted. This is really good news because now there are even more positions available for everyone. Yeah!!!

So here's the thing, I already applied for three positions not realizing they would be posting more. However now, I am very interested in one of the new positions posted. They recommend only applying for three positions but I would really like to apply for the one that just posted.

Do you guys think I should go ahead and apply? Are any of you in the same position? I could really use your input...thanks.
