When will I receive the Magic Bands?

I made a room only reservation. Will they send Magic Bands so I can do fb reservations 60 days in advance or do they just send them to people who purchase a ticket and room package?

They will send you magic bands, but that has nothing to do with booking fastpasses. You'll get your bands a couple of weeks before your trip.

You must have tickets linked to your MDE account to book fastpasses.

I think you don't need the Magic Band to make reservations. Just go to MyDisneyExperience on the website or app.

Like Alesia said, you don't need magic bands to book FPs, you need tickets to book FPs. So, if you have room only booked and no tickets purchased and linked to your account, you can't make fast pass reservations.

To give you an idea of when they send them we arrive April 30th and our mb should arrive tomorrow based on tracking they shipped April 3rd

Further (since your profile doesn't say where you live), they only mail your MBs after you have customized them via your MDE account, and only if you live in the US. If you live outside the US, you will get your MBs when you check in at your resort.

Before you can make FPs, you need to buy tickets, as the PPs have said. If you buy them from Disney, they should automatically show up on your MDE account. If you buy from an authorized reseller, you will have to manually enter the ticket numbers into your MDE account.
