When will '09 dates be released?

Hi all...:flower3:

Just got off our first cruise Sept. 29th Eastern, and we decided to do a summer cruise in '09. It was way to hard to get my sons caught up with school work...any whoo...any ideas if the Eastern and Western will be available or do you all think it will be longer and different cruises. Thanks for any help...:)

I would love for one of the ships to be out of NY it would save us so much $$$$$$ that we could do it every year instead of every two....just my wish, :wizard: I'm sure everyone would love to have some "Wonderful Magic" close to home..:)

If any Disney "Admirals" are reading . . .

"Europe! Europe! Europe!"

or, at least, put us out of our misery!
Living in the UK,I would love that again and there a lot of people in the UK and Europe who would love to do more. DCL didnt advertise here at all for the Med this year but there were lots of new European cruisers.
Do come back soon, but I 'feel' its not our way in 09.

We are all waiting for any news, no one really knows but the DISPODAST, said if the Magic goes away from the Carribean in summer 09, the Wonder might do 3/4 and 7 night cruises add two together you could have a 10 or 11 night cruise in the Carribean.

I think New York would be popular.

So where exactly is the DISboarder betting pool anyways??
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think we've managed to narrow it down to "somewhere not Asia or Africa or South America" so far ;)

Well, I'll keep hoping for Alaska or Bermuda - given that we can't do the airfare to Europe from the middle of the country very easily...
But I think we're all going to be crazy with anticipation by the time DCL does finally let us know!

Thanks for trying Mommasita!!

Well if DCL have ordered retractable glass sliding roof's to cover the pool areas, for its refit in 2008, it might well be Alaska,

The running appears to have narrowed to Alaska or the Carribean area either north or south of Port Canaveral.

That's a little weird that he would know your husband works for an airline! He meets thousands of people a week and remembers personal information about people here on the DIS boards!? Strange!

Not really, as my last posts before leaving were VERY nervous ones. We were afraid not to make it, and about getting bumped from several flights. :teeth:

Thankfully all went well.

well, I did a little research, and Webmaster John sent official announcement to the DIS boards on October 24th that part of 2008 will be available in early November. Just a few days after that we found out that they will, in fact, be available on November 1st!

So I assume that if any releases were to happen around the same time frame again, we would know very soon!

I know Rachel cruise director of the Magic reads posts here as she has quoted them on the ship, and before the evening entertainment in the WDT, has mentioned Dissers.

Ctp Tom often plays with the rumors, in past cruises he has said, I suppose you want to know where we are going next?

Alaska, Northern Europe, West coast, Hawaii,?

Well I have read all of those!

Good detective work, only two days to that date if history repeats itself, but that would be for first part of 09 only say standard cruises to April, as the special summer 08 cruises were released on January 31st.

Oh I TOTALLY agree! Would love a NY port departure!

well, November 1st was only the single most important day of my life since I finally got to book my Disney cruise then! (well, not really, but you know...It was in the top 10 days! :lmao: )

I am actually waiting for the 2nd half of 2009 myself, as we would like to rebook onboard for December 2009! Probably just the kids and I though because I am not going to listen to DH whine about being gone from work again!!

When the Med cruises for 2007 where muted around a lot of people here thought the transatlantic's to/from Europe would be via New York and got very excited, I know a lot of Dissers from NY and it would save on costs and even form the UK, a NY cruise would be tempting as the flight to NY is shorter and we could do a pre cruise there.

There are already ships doing the NY>Bermuda>PC>Caribbean run, so its an option.

Whilst I would prefer another Med or Europe cruise I think the chances for this in 09 now are low, I would consider this if it was an option.

Funny thing most time there has been announcements or release of dates, I have been on holiday and I do not get too many of those.

I am off this week!

Hope you get the cruise you want, but if DCL release some this week, I bet its only the start of 09 to April and 'standard 3/4 and 7 night cruises at that, Summer should be much later.

yes, you are most likely correct! I am in no rush for them to release the 2nd half of 2009 (don't throw tomatoes at me! :rotfl: ) as it's my plan to rebook while onboard in April, but it would still be nice to have a date and start another cruise meet thread! (yes, I have not even been on a Disney cruise yet and I am already addicted. This board has created a monster! :lmao: )

Dear Captain Tom:

We on the Dis know you are familiar with all the goings on posted here. My family and I are some of your biggest fans....we waited out the long 2-3 year process of getting on the Maiden Voyage of the Magic, blindly giving our deposit without knowing where or when the ship was going to sail...enduring two delayed maiden voyage sailings and the logistical nightmare in making all new arrangements, but all the time knowing that the wait would certainly be worth it......and boy were we right!!! We have since cruised a total of 16 times with DCL with #17 booked for next October. Our family has referred and convinced close to 100 people to cruise with Disney. We have sailed most all DCL itineraries, including the Panama Canal. Sadly we were not able do any of the med cruises but would really like to make a request for either Bermuda or Alaska in '09....we know DCL is tight lipped about the new itineraries but all of us on the Dis really want to know!!!

On a more personal note...we have spoken with you several times onboard and we almost had dinner with you one night....we were invited to dine with you but you were not able to attend due to your having to take care of the more important matter aiding assistance to the refugees that the shipped stopped for. We watched some of the sad events unfold from Deck 4 before we went up to Palo for dinner (Tom McAlpin was a fantastic dinner host). When the ship stopped it was a real wake-up call and made us realize how lucky we are and remind us that many do not have the opportunities in life that we do. There we were enjoying a magical 7 day cruise while several men and a young boy were fighting for their lives on the open water in a small row boat. Thank you for stopping and assisting.

Ok, back to happier topics!!! Now, since we only live 25 minutes from the passenger ship terminal in NYC, a cruise from NY to Bermuda would be fantastic!!!! But Alaska would be wonderful as well (we have never been to either of those places yet!!!)

So please let the pixie dust rain down on the DCL powers that be to make some new itineraries happen and to release them!!!! Thank you for all the wonderful and magical memories we have had onboard the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder!

Sincerely,

mmouse37 (aka Mary Jane)

Well I hope it comes out all OK for you and you have a great cruise.

I also hope DCL do learn from their mistakes and stagger the release of cruises over a longer period, to avoid presser on cruisers website, their staff and travel agents.

The Panama and Mexico release in 2004 for 05 and this year for 08, caused so many problems and annoyance, they should for example released the Panama repos on different dates and the Mexico ones at the further separate time.

Mary Jane that is a very nice and insightful open note to DCL, hope you get what you want.

Hope the people you mention are also very safe.
