When were you last victim of a mommy driveby

hhmm, now that you mention it, I gouess I don't know what it means either. I just assumed it meant something like you're pounding the sand with your feet as your walking away quickly,ie; get lost.
guess I'm naive?

ok, just googled it. 2 definitons. the first is to mind your own business. the second can't be reppeated here, and is probably where it came from originally,. but obviousle has altered over the years, where people who use the phrase aren't even aware of that original meaning.

You're not naive. That's actually the most common meaning, and it comes from the WW2 era Navy -- as in just march down the beach and away from me.

And sure, there is a less polite two-word seven-letter way to say the same thing, but that could be anyone's choice when the intent is "go away."

Urban Dictionary has a very concise definition...which is not Dis-appropriate.

The first entry urbandictionary.com lists is, however, DIS appropriate:

"The origin of the expression go pound sand is from a longer expression, not to know (have enough sense to) pound sand down a rathole. Filling rat holes with sand is menial work, and telling someone to pound sand down a hole is like telling them to go fly a kite. The expression dates to at least 1912 and is common in the midwestern United States."

Ah, that must be why I'd never heard it before. I know exactly what "go fly a kite" means, though. ;)
