When was your first visit and how much did you pay?

Hi, found these when I was having a tidy up yesterday, two centre holiday back in 1988 with Virgin, 1 week Quality Inn I drive, 1 week Gulf Sands resort Clearwater, £473 each including car hire , price on the back of the three day park ticket says $78, how things have changed...... Flew into Miami back then and drove up the next day

Wow I love all your ticket stubs you've kept and the parking was so cheap - i hate having to pay for parking (never stayed on site to get the included price).

And Grumpy McScrooge a bitter sweet experience for you but those memories will be with you forever.

:goodvibes

Our first Disney experience was in 1997 when we went to Disneyland in California. I think it cost around £500 each. We didn't even buy our Disney tickets until we got there and our 'planning' consisted of looking at a park map the night before we hit the parks!

Our latest Disney experience was 2012 with our 3 kids. Virgin flights, free DDP, 2 weeks in a 1 bed at OKW and 3 year's of planning......£5750 :)

Our first visit was in 1994 but I can't remember the exact cost and don't have any invoices etc.

I will say it was definitely not expensive as we were living in Miami at the time so travel was just petrol and we bought Florida resident passes. We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort as at the time it was the cheapest on-site hotel (before All Stars etc)

Many fond memories:goodvibes

We went in August 96. I remember my parents saying they could only spend £2000 on the trip. Which for 2adults and 2 kids with car and tickets seems so cheap now! We stayed in kissimee near the big orange! I wanna say it was a masters inn?!

August 96 for our first trip but have no idea how much my parents paid! It was supposed to be the 'once in a lifetime trip' but we want back the following year. That first trip we had two weeks at Dixie Landings and then a week in Clearwater :)

I can't remember how much it cost but I do remember...

We booked so far out in advance, it was like 23 months or something, there were no internet then!

Sitting on the Monarch plane going out, watching the video of all the parks 'Wondering if I will be able to get in or will they turn me away for some reason?'

Getting there, going to Sizzler down on 192 and just sitting there wondering how the food was going to come to my table....

Coming back, after 2 weeks and having to buy another suitcase , and getting on the plane with a 2 foot turtle soft toy from SeaWorld. a large framed picture from KSC, and I kid you not, another 5 carrier bags of stuff. The ex wife also had another 4 carrier bags. Nobody cared, if you could carry it you could take it!!!

Those were the days!!!:rotfl:

First trip to Disneyland was in 1991 with my parents. Only stayed for 4 nights at Anaheim International Inn, no idea how much it cost them. Went back to Disneyland in 2001 with my DB.

First trip to WDW was August 2007 for our Disney Wedding/Honeymoon. 21 nights, 3 nights CBR, 4 nights POFQ, 7 nights GF, 3 nights Disney Cruise and 4 nights Crowne Plaza at Universal. 21 day tickets, DDP, Universal 2 day pass, Seaworld tickets and Virgin flights. Paid £11,000 all in including the wedding. Best trip ever and I still remember it like it was yesterday.

My first trip to WDW was in 1991 was 6, almost 7. I don't know how much it cost because my parents paid! But I do remember that my Dad was made redundant and not long after maybe a few weeks, we were at the airport being told we were going to Disney! He used his redundancy to pay for it! Thankfully he quickly found another job!

We stayed at the travelodge in Kissimmee, opposite old town. I remember having mcdonalds breakfast every morning but being annoyed that me and my sister were only allowed cereal yet my Mum had pancakes every day! We flew with Britannia and I remember not really being able to see much on the way home because I had a giant Minnie Mouse teddy on my lap!

The next trip I was in my early teens and again parents paid so not sure on cost, we stayed at ASM. BUT the third trip I was early twenties and had to pay for myself. We took my now DH and it was his very first trip abroad! I remember we booked through Jetsave flew with Virgin and stayed at holiday inn which is now clarion inn at LBV 2 weeks including car hire and 14 day park tickets £500 EACH!! We got a very good deal, that was in 2005!

Needless to say our Honeymoon trip 2 years later staying at AKL was a lot more than 500 each. Lol

My first visit to WDW was in 1989.

I was in the Royal Navy and we were docked in Fort Lauderdale, I'd just celebrated my 18th birthday there so it must have been the seconf half of May.

We got a week's leave so 7 of us hired an MPV and headed to Kissimmee where we got 4 inter-connecting rooms at what I seem to remember was the Thrifty Inn. (It was the cheapest place we could find.) We used one of the bathrooms as a beer fridge, filling the bath with ice and beer and had a whale of a time.
We never knew anything about Disney so when we'd been round the Magic Kingdom, we thought we'd seen it all!
I do remember we got into WDW cheaper too as they gave us military rates...

It probably cost about 5% of the cost of our last trip there!:rotfl2:

Our first visit was in 2002, we were going to go to the Dominican Republic on a late deal but I saw a deal with Virgin for £499 each and I managed to convince my now DH it would be a once in a life time holiday!! we stayed at the travelodge on I drive.
If we had gone to the Dominican it would of saved us thousands and thousands of pounds... lol :rotfl2:

We first visited Oct 2005. We booked with an agent who promised the Virgin flights then when the contracts came out they switched to US Airways. Originally we had 2 weeks for £2500 (flights plus Hotel Radisson Barcelo I drive) for 2 Ad 2 Ch but they allowed us to cancel free of charge. We book separately for £2100 and added an extra week and flew on the same US airways flight and stayed at the same hotel.

My first trip was in 1996 with my ex husband and we stayed at the then holiday Inn on Lake buena vista.3 weeks with one in bahamas. Cost£2100
My first family trip with DD was 2004 stayed at holiday inn I-drive cost £1800 all in and thats where the yearly trips began and now stay onsite and proud dvc owner
