When to go?

My girlfriends and I are looking into going to Disney in 2005, but one of them is a guidance counselor in a high school, and is restricted by the school year. Her March spring break is never a guarantee because if the school uses too many snow days, they lose their spring break, so March is out of the question. So that leaves the summer -- Last week of June, July, August and the week before Labor day, or the week of Christmas.

What do you all think? How are the crowds at the various times I mentioned? And park hours?

I thought June seemed hotter than August for some reason. It tends to rain more in August, so that cools things off. But then you'll be tromping around in the rain, so that might not be good. I guess I'd vote for June. But be prepared for extreme heat!

My suggestion is to go the week before the school year starts in your friends area. We did this one year and hit it aroung 8-1. Th ecrowds were not bad at all. It is hot but we are talking Florida. I am from Georgia and used to it anyway. You will have thnderstorms to deal with but they normally occur in the middeel of the day as things heat up, last about an hour, and then clear out. This gives just enough time to eat and relax somewhere. The crowds thin out after a rain and this can be a great time to be in the parks. We went to Blizzard Beach one day just as a horrible thunderstorm hit. The park emptied but did not close. Everyone had to come out of the water and wait. It was the longest storm we experienced that trip and lasted about 1 1/2 hours. When it lifted and the lifegaurds had everyone get back into the water, there may have been 20 people in the place. We stayed there for about 4-5 hours and had a blast.
