We have gone for the last several years around the middle of sept. This year we are planning for sept. 23 and I noticed in the unofficial guide that they indicate it is a very crowded time to go. We hate crowds and lines so if this is the case, we will go a week earlier. Is the end of sept. crowded and why? We are used to just walking on rides or having no more than a 5 minute wait for anything.

At the end of September, MNSSHP starts as does the F&WF. Maybe the Unofficial Guide takes into account both of those events even though they start later than September 23, but within the last week of the month?

Just a suggestion, and i dont know if its feesiable for you, but honestly the best time to go in my opinion is usually the first weekend of September usually i think its labor day weekend. Crowds are always dead. I've been last 3 yrs this weekend, and never waited more then 15-20 mins fo the main attractions. Also its not hard to get ressies for anything u want to do, and weather usually isnt that bad

Thanks for the replies. We always go for a week in sept. and we don't expect to wait in lines. I didn't want that to change this year by going later in the month than usual. The unofficial guide doesn't give a reason for their increases crowd rating but they list that week as an 8 for crowds with 10 being the most crowded.

We were there last year for the last week of september. Crowds weren't bad at all. The only time we saw crowds was on our last day, the first day of Food and Wine and MNNSHP(we went to both :) )
