When to fax hotel on room selection??

Hi! We are going to CSR for our honeymoon on Sept 23rd.

I read somewhere some people fax/call the front desk person who does room selections and request certain places or rooms.

The only thing really on our list is the King size bed...but when do we fax/call in?? A week before or days before our arrival?? Also....anyone have any recommedations on certain areas being more quiet/romantic than others. We defintely dont' want to hear people up all times of the night....unless it's us..of course

Most of the resorts are ignoring faxes these days for room requests.

Did you pay extra for the king bed room? Otherwise it is just a request and there aren't a lot of them.

Call central reservations and have your requests noted in your reservation. That way they will see they when they go to assign your room.

No need to fax then.

Thanks, GoldenOldie, for the link to allears' website about faxing in requests. That web page contained a ton of information that I will be using. I hadn't seen any advice of that kind before and I'm a frequent reader of several good guide books. Thanks again!

Ditto. I've had better luck getting requests simply by calling CRO. They do note it on your reservation, and the front desk can see your requests on the computer.
