When to Buy Universal Tickets?

I know Disney ticket prices go up every year, but do Universal tickets? If so, is it by a significant amount, and what time of year this occurs? I see right now it is only $140 for a three day ticket; that's a bargain, compared to Disney!

We are going in April, May or July of 2014.

Those tickets expire this June.

You can get discounted tickets at undercovertourist.com that are a better buy than getting them online at universalorlando.com

The normal tickets don't expire...only promotional ones.

Just to be clear, so I can buy REGULAR (not promotional) tickets from Undercover Tourist today and they will still be good if we're not going to be there until 2015? (Graduation trip, wanting to lock in current prices, but don't want to screw up! ;) )

Just a reminder...ticket prices can change at any time and very little notice is given of the increase. You should purchase tickets when you feel comfortable in doing so. Tickets do not expire until they are activated at the gate so you could purchase now and hold them until next year.

We are planning to visit in November this year and possibly go back next Summer 2014
Does anyone know about the power pass? or annual pass?
Do you have to be a Florida Resident
Should we consider this, right now its only about $164 per person
When should we buy the pass if going in Nov?

Does anyone know if July is always a blockout date or is that just this year
and why are there discounts on 1 day and mutli-day tickets
Isnt the power pass my ticket?

Any annual passholders out there that can help

You do not have to be a FL resident to purchase an AP. The Power Pass is the basic AP that has black out dates and offers no discounts on food and merchandise. The Preferred offers the park discounts, NO black out dates and offers free parking. This July is blacked out for the Power Pass because Transformers is opening at the Studios and the park will be very crowded. There are some summer black out dates but those change year to year based on what's going on.

I would advise one Preferred AP for your family so you can get the discounts and free parking (after the first visit) and the rest get Power Passes...unless those black out dates will be a problem.

You can purchase APs whenever you like...they don't start until you activate them at the gates. So...you can buy them now and hold them until you visit.

The ticket discounts offered at the gate are for additional tickets for your friends/family that might visit with you and not have an AP. It's a nice feature to have.

Thanks Metro West:thumbsup2

Thats a great idea to buy one Preferred to get the discounts and buy the rest of the family power passes
Just hope we can work around the blackout dates

When we went a few years ago, we did exactly what MetroWest suggested & it worked great. We're going again in a few months but the passes I looked at were $190 for the power pass. Where can you find them for $164 if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!

My DH & I bought our tickets!! :yay:With a wonderful tip from DIS, I signed up for the Mousesavers newsletter, and used their secret code for Undercover Tourist and got a great deal! We didn't want Park to Park, with 5 kids under the age of 12 we will stick with one park per day, and I got the adult tickets for $151.95! The total for Four Day Base tickets, for my family of 7 was $1015! :thumbsup2

FL residents can purchase a Power pass for $164.99 plus tax...the non-resident cost is $189.99 plus tax.
