when to book for October?

I am getting anxious about booking... there aren't any October deals right now... I seem to remember kids fly free in October in years past, but that always ended up being more expensive then me using my Alaska miles and booking a hotel package through Costco... the hotel package rates I am getting are similar to years passed when we traveled in May and October... what do you all think... do it?? Wait?? If wait, wait until when? I am probably going to do theme park view Paradise Pier... I don't want all those rooms to book, in case viewing WOC is good from there... uugh!!

On our last trip, we paid for everything ala carte and I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have gotten a better deal if we'd have bought a package. I just checked every single day until I found a price I liked.

We bought our hotel - PPH - through Expedia for $99 a night. When we got there, I asked if there was an upgrade available...never hurts to ask...and they upgraded me to a park view room for free.

I checked airfare prices religiously until I found a good deal on Bing Travel for $200 / per round trip.

I bought the tickets when I found a decent deal for parkhoppers directly through Disneyland.com

Oh, and I didn't buy a thing until 2 - 3 months before our trip...I think i purchased the airfare like 30 days in advance?

I wouldn't stress about it just yet. Maybe reserve the hotel now with no obligation, and then continue looking for hot deals.

I've checked expedia, and right now they only offer concierge rate rooms at $350 a night at the PP... We usually do costco because they include a free character meal, and it prices slightly lower than the WDTC prices... I use miles for the flights, so we usually pay about $100 rt pp, and there are 2 of us! So $200 total for flights... Wish I could book with costco and have the adjust the price if it goes down...
