when to book flights for april 2015?

Flying out of Burlington VT to MCO. Usually go JetBlue but they are not cheap anymore so looking at other airlines but rates are not released yet. When will they be released? When will fares be most reasonable to purchase?

You can book with the legacy airlines 11 months out. However, JB and SW won't open those windows for booking until late fall....I would imagine. JB just opened booking through Jan 5, 2015 on April 7. SW hasn't opened yet.

I just got back from a WDW trip (April & Easter Break). I can tell you I messed up on my airline costs. I started looking 11 plus months out on legacy airlines. I don't have choice of SW of JetBlue where I live. At that time, prices were in the mid $400's (flying from California). I thought since I was looking so far out that the prices would certainly drop. But they didn't. Then all the times and connections all changed and getting us into MCO the following day. My rule of thumb now....if I'm comfortable with the cost, get it when I see it.

If you are looking to travel during school vacations, I'd suggest booking airfare very early. Prices for vacation week(s) rise quickly. I'm heading to WDW next April as well. Since I'm a teacher, vacation week is my only option. I am planning to purchase airfare towards the end of May (when United, USAir, and/or Delta release their flights).

Also, if your vacation is near Easter, I would DEFINITELY buy early.

I don't have school the Friday before vacation and plan to take a personal day on Thursday so that I can fly out earlier and save some more money.

for April 2014 I booked with Jetblue in July 2013!! got good prices for roundtrip and will keep watch for release of april 2015 flights as soon as JB releases again!
