when to book airfare? oppinions please

Looking at airfares for first week Feb. 2002, not as low as I hoped, some dates already sold out at lowest fair (flying DTW to MCO) Should I go ahead and book now at a higher fare or wait it out and see if it drops? What would you do?

Also have NW 2 free tickets but was told no seats available on our travel dates or even day or two before and after!

We are going to WDW from Feb 9 through Feb 16 2002. I booked our tickets,(there are 4 of us) on May 31. Our rate from MKE to MCO was 198.00 on Delta. I just checked again and the rate right now is over 300.00, so I am glad I booked when I did. If by chance it would go down, I would call and get a voucher for the difference.I don't know what to tell you, but you can always book now and get a voucher if the price changes.

last year for feb 9th I booked my tkt jan 30 at 129 round trip from pit to mco. regualr sale fare is 196-204 sales for feb aren't out yet. but what are your dates in feb? for my feb trip of the 1st weekend I am waiting until dec or jan to buy my tkt as this is when they will have the best price out. I can wait I am not one of those poeple who panics when they don't have their tkts early.

I'm not sure my comfort level would allow me to wait until that late to book tickets! But my instinct tells me to try to wait it out for a while, $280 seems pretty high. My dates are Feb. 5 or 6 through Feb. 12.

My last WDW trip was almost three years ago, we bought airfare in late Aug. for Jan. got a good price then it dropped again and we got vouchers.

right now........if I hadn't for the heck of it checked flights last night for our upcoming trip....NEXT APRIL......I would not had know that three of the departures were sold out......so we are on a different day now and hopefully wil get to Orlando three days later.....I would not postpone it any more.....our travel agent that I called this am.....said it is very strange this year.....most all the flights are being sold fast.........
