I just read a review on TripAdvisor that said if there is lightning, they shut the boats down from HS to YC/BC and then you are stranded at HS because there's no other way to get back besides walking...is this true? I mean, obviously you can take a cab, but it seems like if the boat stopped running, they would send a bus?

I have been at DHS when they shut the boats down and there were buses available for the boardwalk area resorts.

I had that happen once, we were directed to busses.

When we were staying at POR we went to POFQ for something and there was a storm. We were completely stranded at POFQ. The rain and lightning, etc, made it too bad to even walk back to POR. We went to the desk and they sent a private van over to drive us and another stranded family back to POR. (The driver was hilarious and it ended up being the highlight of our trip! He had us in years from laughing so hard). Anyway, if they arrange this just for POR to POFQ, I'm sure there are arrangements in place for getting back from a park.
