When staying DVC

Does mousekeeping ever leave towel animals if you are staying DVC? I know they don't come very often but we're staying 9 nights so I was hoping they'd come two days but my kids are so excited about POSSIBLY getting a towel animal. Do they give them to DVC members?

It varies by resort, and likely the number of rooms that need cleaning that day. Most trips we don't get any, but there have been times when there was Mickey outine on the bed done in towels, a small duckling or chick, and once we had a beautiful swan. But most of the time, no. No towel animals.

Based solely on my experiences, I'd say you have a 50/50 chance, most likely the day you check-in.

We stayed on an RCI exchange, so no daily housekeeping. We had lovely towel animals on check in so that was it. Are you on a cash reservation? If so, housekeeping still comes daily. But, when renting points they do not.

Besides the outline of Mickey on the bed, on our last 2 stays we had other things. At AKV, there was a towel little mouse. My DGF liked it so much, she took it apart and then bought enough wash cloths to make them with her DGC when she got home. At BWV, we had towels make into the form of a candle in a candle holder. Neither my DDiL nor I dared take it apart to see how it was done! Both of these were in December, and the BWV time was between Christmas and NYE. We get these little extras about 75% of our DVC stays.

I have found we generally have something at many check ins- I find them to be more likely at AKV and BLT than OKW in my experience. Since I have never stayed long enough to have more than a Trash and Towel and not very often do we stay long enough for that I don't get them other days.

I have had towel animals at OKW for the last 5 xmas trips...small hand towel mice and others. At AKLV last xmas trip(Jambo house) we only got the mickey ears on the bed. We always get at least the mickey ears at HHI each summer trip.

We get them on nearly every DVC trip. In fact I can't remember a time when I didn't get them.

They even did a towel birthday cake for my wife's birthday!

It must be hit or miss.

we didn't get any at bay lake last month over 9 days on our first trip home. i think i missed it more than the kids did! lol

I have gotten them each visit for the past 6 years...all DVC stays....don't really think it is an interference to cleaning or geting the rooms avaiable ontime....or none of the resorts would paritcipate.

ssr is my home and i have been there a few times and never had a towel figure. the only place i have had one is vero beach. it is a shame because they are lovely for the children to come in and find.
maybe it would be diffrent in a 2 bedroom room.

thats cool but even i could do that i have come back to some very cool thing and couldn`t make them my self. the children love them.

We get them on nearly every DVC trip. In fact I can't remember a time when I didn't get them.

I don't think it's hit or miss, I can only think of once in my 30 plus DVC trips since ownership in 2000 that we failed to get one. We had a 2bd at OKW, 3rd floor and the room was missing near to everything, no vacuum, no kitchen sponge, no broom, no TV remote control. I figure it must a been the to go room for everything everyone else was missing. It was just for one night till we moved to another resort, and truthfully the room was clean except for the 1000 crumbs in the sofa bed, this was my only true problem w/ OKW in 13 years.

We always had something, a duck, a seal (?), a mickey and we still enjoy having them. These towel animals etc. are a cute, uncostly perk that I think most people enjoy, and after all , it is Disney, the happiest place on earth!

We often get a duck when we stay at BLT. We get it most of the time on check-in not during our stay.
