When staying at HRH, then moving to WDW....

We are staying 2 nights at HRH, then moving to CR. My question is: do I take all my luggage into HRH for just 2 nights? Do I leave some of it in the rental car in the parking lot? I'm afraid of someone stealing stuff out of the rental, but I'd hate to drag all that luggage in the HRH just to let it take up space. What do all of you experienced resort hoppers do? Thanks!

When we do that...I pack a bag with what we will need for the couple days and leave everything else in the car. Our health/beauth aids are always in a separate bag anyway so no concern there.

No point in lugging extra stuff!

Instead of packing each person's clothes in their own suitcase mix it up a bit. Assuming you are two kids and two adults. Have one adult and one child split between two bags. Leave other bag for Disney in the car. I don't think you will have a problem leaving stuff in the car but if you are worried about theft go ahead and bring it in. A thief would not know what is in your locked trunk unless you rented a van that has an open cargo area.

The rooms at HRH are not huge and I wouldn't want to be tripping over additional luggage if I didn't have to.

We did the same thing in Aug 2001 but for three nights at HRH. We took everything to the room (or rather the bell hop did as they unloaded it from the car when we arrived). For two nights it is probably easier to just bring your luggage rather than try and predict what you will need and pack seperate mixed bags.

On a recent trip to WL, we were on the boat going to MK and DH & I started talking to newlyweds. They checked into hotel, and decided to keep their luggage in the car.....and off they went to MK for the day.

Well low & behold, everything was stolen out of the car. clothes, camera, etc.etc. We felt so sorry for them,,,,but they were actually quite chipper about the whole thing.

SO, I would suggest taking all luggage with you. Even though most people are good & honest, one bad one can ruin your whole vacation.

We always split our stay between WDW and Universal and we always take our luggage up to the room with us.

Too many thieves out there looking for an easy target. There was even a story here about 1 year ago of a man's minivan getting robbed right in the parking lot of RP I think.

Another unrelated but similar story... a couple of ladies put their purses in the trunk of their car while at DTD and when they returned, the car 'looked' fine with the door still locked but the purses were gone! Some expert in the area of theft in Florida reported how this is done but I don't remember how.

I take everything in! I have heard too many horror stories. Split the suitcases up but do not open the ones you don't need. We had 5 suitcases in June and we had plenty of room in our room.
