When staying at BCV or BWV....

I've never been to Disney so this may be a novice question.

We're planning on going to MK for at least 2-3 days of the 4 days we're there so my husband has it in his head that he wants to stay at the VWL. We're having a hard time getting a reasonably priced reservation.

So I suggested any of the other Villas (figured with flexibility we'd have more options) but he's afraid it'll take too long to get to places.

How long on the monorail does it take when you go from one place to the next? For example, if we stayed at BWV and went to Magic Kingdom? 20 mins...40 mins???

The bus ride from BWV to MK is about 20-minutes, there is no monorail to MK. You can walk to EPCOT and the Studios while at BWV or you can take a boat.

The BCV and BWV are way better than the WLV ,,IMOP!

When we visit in october , it will be our 3rd time staying at the BCV.

It is about a 20 minute bus ride to the MK as a pp stated, plus you can walk to 2 parks. Doesn't get much better then that.

BCV are generally more expensive that VWL - the pool is better.

for cheaper - OKW, AKV and SSR.

AKV is only cheaper if you are going thru a member.

We prefer the BCV or BWV you can walk to Epcot go through the park and take the monorail over to MK but the bus is faster by the time you walk through the park. I think the central location is better however I dont think they are cheaper.

From BCV or BWV, you'd take a bus to MK. From VWL, you can take a bus or boat to MK. It'd be a slightly faster trip from VWL, but the difference probably wouldn't be more than 10 minutes or so.

There's no monorail service at any of the above resorts. The monorail only stops at the following locations:

MK
Epcot
TTC
GF
CR
Poly

VWL is the smallest DVC resort right now, so availability could be hard, especially if you go through Central Reservations.

Are you planning to book your stay through Disney or rent points on the DVC rent/trade board?

We have a reservation through Disney (AAA rates) but are trying to rent through points instead.
