When should I start looking for airfare out of CT???

We are planing to leave from either White Plains, Bradley, or Logan durin mid month in August. Sooooooooooo when is the best time to look for airfare and from what airlines?

We will also be leaving Logan in mid Aug, and as of yet the airfare,IMO, is still too high. Our last 2 trips to Disney were in Aug, and we paid around $175 each r/t. Currently, I haven't been able to find much less than $222. True, it is more expensive to fly now, but I also think it it too early for airlines to adjust summer fares. We used to fly Delta's Song, but they have discontinued it, so we are looking at Jet Blue and Delta. Good luck ! PS. If you are going mid Aug., why does your counter say 4 months ? Do you have a shortcut to Aug. that we need to know about ?!

I'm not sure where you are in CT, but if it is convenient, check Providence (PVD) also. Sometimes it is cheaper than Bradley.

No the counter was from Halloween trip last year. Guess it is time to remove them.

Hi there! We just booked airtran for $64 each way out of WP. We were going to drive until my hubby was online one night and found this deal - couldn't pass it up. Don't know when flights for Aug. will be available but keep checking - the rates change all of the time. My mom flies out of WP all of the time to fl and loves it -Both the airline and the airport. Much smaller than JFK,LGA or Newark.

Wow... So the price changes everyday? When are you guys leaving and how many people? Last I checked it went up by 10.00 which worries me? What days are better then the others? We reserved our time share for the 11th of Aug.

just found out - check newburgh (SWF), I think both airtran and jetblue are out of there, Jetblue you can book now, and airtran, not sure when that starts up.
We are flying out of hpn(whiteplains) in feb, on airtran, hope all goes well!!

I am in New Haven County also and am flying Jetblue out of Newburgh for $69 one way. It is a very small airport with only 7 gates & parking is less than $50 per week from what I have heard. Parking at White Plains seems to be $20 per day & I couldn't find any info about offsite parking. The last 3 years we have flew Delta out of Hartford for $59 one way in Aug. These fares usually show up around end of June beginning of July.

We are neighbors ! We live in Stratford! The rates change on Tuesday's and Wednesday for airtran. Sign up for the email notifications from them and they will alert you when rates change.

I just booked jet blue out of White Plains for $99 ea. way not the best but a lot lower than I've been looking at.

check you Jetblue flights everyday. If the price goes down you can call and get a credit to your Trueblue account. I booked mine at $99 each way and they both went down to $69 each way. I have a $60 credit for each person good for 1 year.

Don't drive to Logan....its not worth it. As you can see here, there are more places opening up air service (If we could only get direct out of HVN).

It is in NY new Westpoint I believe. From New Haven it is almost a 2hr drive. You take I84 to get there. We usually fly Jetblue out of JFK but this airport is easier to get to from what I can see and the prices are lower than Hartford. I also like that it is such a small airport. No crowds hopefully. We are flying out of there next week. Also what I like about Jetblue (besides the tv) is that if the price goes down after you buy they will give you a credit.

Just get on I-84 and head west!!! continue past the exit for the Taconic, over the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge, then once you gt to the exit for the NYS Throughway you almost there, I think you get off 84 at exit 19, not sure if its north or south. But there are signs, wind through the town and then your there! Its easy, and I am so excited to not have to go to Hartford, or NYC!!!! The ability to get to Florida out of Westchester or Newburgh is awsome! Too bad we couldn't get a direct flight out of New Haven!!!

I too am hoping for direct flights out of New Haven. It was recently in the news that Tweed had been talking to Jetblue. Hopefully they will consider Hartford or New Haven in the future.

Jetblue is going to be flying out of Westchester soon too. I think that they are trying to take some of the traffic out of the other NY airports.

My only concern with Westchester is the parking. On the airport website it states that parking is limited and over $20 per day. That is alot of money when you are going for one week. I have not been able to find any other info about offsite parking. That is why we choose Newburgh. It is a longer drive but parking is onsite for less than $50 for one week.
