when should book air

im going in Dec. 4-10

i assume air tran (tran air witch ever it is ) possibly southwest will be cheapest but should i book as soon as it opens or wait for a special

dates are flexible 4=mon. 10=sun.

Because there seems to be no clear picture of where air fares are going, my standard plan is to have a rough idea of what I want to pay. Then I keep checking. As long as there are seats on flights I am interested in, and the prices are not what I want, I keep looking. But if the prices come close to what I want,then I buy. For my flights next week, I looked every day for weeks. Finally there was an unannouced sale on tickets and I bought them quickly. 2 days later the prices went right back up.

11 days for you congrats

i am afraid if i dont jump on them when they first come out i may lose the seats all together

how is travel in the first or second week of Dec. can i wait or should i jump

first real famly vacation i dont want to screw it up
right now the air fair im gettin is about $220.00 pp

can i do much better?.
