and you feel the need to shop for food...

Head to the new Whole Foods at Turkey Lake and Sand Lake.

The wife and I were in there last weekend and it was like Gay Days at the grocery store! :thumbsup2

And for those of you who may be interested, be sure to stop by the deli... there is the sweetest young man there...:goodvibes and yep, he's family. :p

Oh, and the items on offer are nice too. :lmao: ::yes::

I didn't realize Whole Food's was down south! We have a few in NJ. Love Whole Foods!:thumbsup2

This is a pretty nice one. ::yes:: It has a larger selection of prepared items than you usually see, but I think that's in part due to its proximity to Disney.

An incredible selection of international cheeses. They also have hand made ... oh yeah, like I'm not going to enter a mine field trying to describe this ... ummmm...salami...:)

I'm going to shut up now. :lmao:

(I just thought of the folks on this board when we were there, thinking that if they had the chance it'd be a gay positive shopping experience). :) :upsidedow

:wave2:

We LOOOVE going to that Whole Foods!

And I'm in heaven, because they carry Hatch brand canned green chiles! :woohoo: (Very important to those of us that are fans of New Mexico green chiles)

But it's a very dangerous place! We always spend more than we plan on spending there.

It does help if we go right after eating at the Pei Wei right next door, however . . .

I thought it was called "Whole Wallet"! :confused3

It is pricey, that's for sure. It has caused the Fresh Market to be competitive in pricing though, so some benefit there.

We LOVE dan dan noodles at Pei Wei!!! We avoid them like the plague though. Carbs are so not nice to us. :scared:

The coffee at WF, and the produce are too other lures. Oh, and the olive bar. :teeth:

There is a farmer's market in the parking lot on Saturdays. Weird...to have one in the parking lot of a grocery store...:confused3

We shop Whole Foods a lot. Its nice going into a place and knowing Jared can eat anything in the store without having to read every label.

Did you say Olive Bar? My Publix moved the olives behind the deli! Do they have bleu cheese stuffed Olives? That may be worth the trip alone!
OMG These are MY favorite!! I had a bunch of them last night! They do have them in my whole food's in NJ.

I feel like I'm about to step into a commercial....to the tune of the begging strips commercial.....Olives, Olives Did someone say olives?

I just had garlic olives for my mid-afternoon snack. I'm a huge fan of the salad and prepared food bar at the whole foods nearest me. (Tony, I shop at West Orange - how about you?) Not to mention the cheese and meat departments. BUt back to the olives, now I feel like having a dirty martini. I put blue cheese olives in mine. If only I didn't have a competition tonight..

The soup and salad bar is pretty wonderful, especially if you can get to one where they have about 5 or 6 choices of soup and lots of hot items. Usually a small soup and salad costs me around $12, which is pricey.....but the store itself has some pretty good deals if you know where to look.

For example, most of the time you'll be better off going to WF than to a regular grocery store for things like cheeses and brie.

In Columbus......

A 7-inch log of goat cheese costs:

Whole Foods............$6.99
Kroger....................$9.99
Giant Eagle.............$8.99
Trader Joe's............$4.99

Okay, Trader Joe's wins, but I never feel like driving the extra 10 miles to get there. :confused3

Oh, I love Whole Foods. They make the best little sandwiches and wraps. Yumm.

And their bakery ... oh my. They have some great cookies that never seen to make it past the parking lot.

Stacey - we do the West Orange one too. The one in Montclair is very awkward.

Akward, now that is a good word for that location. A new one will be opening in Parsmus soon. Now if we only had a Wegmans:goodvibes

The do sometimes have those O'Mike. ::yes:: If they don't have them when you are there, head up to Fresh Market (not far from WW at all). They have them all the time.

They have preserved lemons on their olive bar too. :teeth:

Seriously yummy stuff.

There are several Whole Foods here in the metro Atlanta area. If you ever watch Good Eats on the Food Network, you will see that Alton Brown frequents Harry's Farmers Market and/or Whole Foods. Harry's was bought by Whole Foods a few years ago.

I love Whole Foods! The one near my work has the Olive Bar too. I love olives. Black olives are my favorites. For some reason, my mother craved black olives when she was pregnant with me. She never really cared for them, except for that time in her life. I guess I came by my love of them honestly. lol

Oh my goodness I love Whole Foods!
[Why do I feel like it's lesbo-land in there?]
Anyway. If any of you guys love cheese as much as I do, there is this marinated feta that seriously is the best feta I've ever had. Every year my friends and I throw this big cheese party. We've had it for 6 or 7 years now and every year we have about 20 different types of cheese and we always need at least 2 marinated fetas.
Okay I'm done promoting the magic of the cheese.
:p

Speaking of Bleu cheese stuffed olives, Bonefish Grill has them on a regular basis!:thumbsup2

When I heard this it had to be a Martini before dinner! Shrek and I were taking bets at how much they would whack me for those! I said $2.00, Shrek said $1.00.

Are you ready for this?

25 cents!

I did my best "Mommy Dearest wave" to order another! :cool1:

Wait a minute ... only 1 more?!:confused3

Yes, I only had two! :rotfl2:

But honestly, I give rave reviews to Bonefish Grill. You may want to check it out the next time you are in Orlando, or any other city that has them. We have cleaned our plates every time! And with a few drinks, apps, salad, and dinner, it's usually just $80.00
