When meeting characters with two children

My two go together if they both like the character except when it’s a princess. Princesses and other talking characters tend to be longer. They ask my daughter questions and talk while the princess is signing the book. My daughter usually goes up first and has time with her and then the princess will approach my son at which point he goes into “I know I’m so cute” mode.
There are some that only one child will go to. My daughter has no interest in meeting Sorcerer Mickey; but my son loves him; so on 3 trips she has played on the computers in the room while ds and I did that line. Buzz and Woody meet and greet at DHS, my son went alone last time. Fairies and Ariel in fins my son has no interest. Fab 5/6 member they go together for a shot with the two of them with the character and then I get in for one additional photo.

We make our own autograph books, with the character's picture and name on the page, so they seem to always want to take more time with us. And not just the face characters; Stitch made a BIG deal about his picture on the card/book at BOTH MK and HS. We never really had a plan, they just both went up and took turns getting autographs. The PP photog would take pics of them individually during that interaction, but they would only have posted pics together. Unless there were 2 characters (Lilo & Stitch, Chip & Dale) then they would autograph, interact and pose with each character separately then finally a shot of all four together. And the ones that had them with each individually often had both sets in one pic, but space in between, so I can separate them to scrapbook which is pretty cool, as usually one shot is good of one child and another shot is good of the other LOL

All of your responses make me feel so much better! We will definitely be organized and ready once it's our turn for interaction! I just wanted to be sure it wouldn't be rude to get individual pics and a pic with both of my girls! We will probably decide which we really "need" individuals for, then let them stay together the whole time for the others!

We usually just get one with the kids together. If it's a character that is a favorite of one in particular, we will also get an individual one. And I like to get a family picture (with DH and I) at least a couple of times on each trip. *Most* characters and photographers are very patient. If we sense that they are trying to rush us along, we usually just don't bother with any extras.

If it's just your family (ie - parents and a couple of kids), it's not going to be a big deal either way. A few years ago we went with a big group (including the kids' cousins) and that was logistically more challenging at m&gs. I wish that more often I had insisted on a picture with just my own kids. I mean, I like their cousins and all, but it's not like I want pictures of them all over my walls and photo albums, lol!

We have 5 children,3 of them girls. We always make sure that we have a game plan ahead of time for M&G. It all depends on the character and who wants in. Sometimes it's one at a time, sometimes it's a group, sometimes it's both.

We also have 5 children- 4 girls & 1 boy. We normally just do a group pic of all the kids that decide to go up. Of course we do have 5 books, so that takes a bit of time, but we are always (ok, usually) ready.

I felt a little bad at Epcot on our last trip, Alice spent quite a bit of time with my 4 who went up. The kids loved it, they kept turning around & looking at me like they couldn't believe all she was doing. I felt a smidge uncomfortable, but it was Alice driving the interaction. And then I thought- it's 4 kids- she can take 4 kids worth of time. We jumped in line on a whim- she wasn't anyone they knew much about. After our trip, I think she was everyone's favorite.
