When is the next phase opening at AKL?

Just wondering if anyone knows when the next phase of rooms is opening at Kidani? We are waitlisted for Thanksgiving (room already booked at OKW). When I was waitlisted, the Memeber Services cast member told me there was a very good chance of availability due to the next phase opening in the summer. I thought he said in July. Anyone know?

I thought I read somewhere that Kidani should be completed in September. FWIW, we did the Wanyama Safari this June and the guide said that the new savanna is opening when the rest of Kidani opens. Since he works with the animals that will be on the new savanna, he was told that they will be opening the new savanna in the end of August or beginning of September.

The other thing is that the resort is not sold out yet. The only rooms/units that will be available to DVC members (on points) are those that have been declared into DVC inventory. So even if the actual building is complete and operational, the rooms still may not be available to book on points if the points for those rooms haven't been sold yet.

I'm curious about this as well. We're waitlisted for the last week in September. The cast member also told me I had a great chance of the waitlist pulling thru as well. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed but I'm just wondering when they will declare more units.

We have a Kidani 1B SV for 11/22-25, then a 1BR Jambo SV for 11/25-11/27, then back to Kidani for 11/27, one night.

Obviously, we're waitlisted for the 2 nights (thksgiving and night before) at Kidani so we can stay put.

I'm having a hard time getting psyched about this vacation at this point. . .DD10 asked me where we were staying the other day and I didn't even want to answer, it sounds so convoluted and unfun as it stands now!!
