I canceled this year's summer beach cottage reservation due to the no-seeums. When is the best time to visit Vero Beach?
I'm looking for the best weather month(s) without the mosquitoes.

April-June

I agree. We usually go in late May/early June.

Thanksgiving is great as well-we've done that twice.

We've really never had a problem with the no-see ums. We bought Cutter Advance, just in case, but didn't even use it at all. If you read the boards, it seems that some people get 'chewed up' and others have no problems at all.

Florida has a tropical climate, and the 'flying things' seem to be year-round residents. Don't let them 'bug' you ;)

wow. I'd stay in a BC even if man eating jumbo rats were patroling the shoreline!

Winter is the traditional "season" for Vero. January-April being the true tourist time. May can still be beautiful. October is also a beautiful time as long as you keep an eye to the hurricane reports.

I have been in August and February several times and I have not had issues with the Noseeums.

I just returned from Vero and the no see ums were terrible. I have at least 75 bites on my arms and legs. I found out that "OFF" does not work on these bugs. I LOVED the resort and will be bringing Cutter Advanced with me next year.

What is a noseeum? I'm assuming it is a bug of some sort? Sorry, never heard of it and we are considering a trip to Vero Beach next June.
Thanks

Avon Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus is less expensive, smells nicer and works just as well. Seasoned VB guests swear by it.

We usually go in early to mid May. It's great then. Not to hot, but you'll want to swim in the pool and ocean. The bugs aren't as bad in May as they were the other times we went in late June.

Any experiences of Vero in September? Hubby is talking about getting away last minute and catching a trip to Vero in Sept.

Besides the threat of hurricanes, how is the weather?

Thanks
