When is a good time to purchase air fare?

I figured I 'd ask the experts My travel dates are Sept. 25-Oct.3 Flying out of PHL Im thinking if I cant get a good price we will have to drive That would make my husband happy beacuse he hates to fly.

Some stock market advice: "Buy on a dip."

With more and more airlines no longer price matching themselves, the general advice that is returning is to wait for a fare war rather than buy at their everyday low price. (Not counting really popular dates such as late Sunday after Thanksgiving)
