When in doubt, feed the bear....but not that!!!Day 6- Last day blues

And now the new Dumbos are up and running. The queue is great for kids, too. :thumbsup2

I will admit making it to Dumbo but only got a glimpse of the queue.

One day before my AP expired, my Donald card was chewed up by the turnstile machine. It sucked it in, but didn't spit it back out. They had to take the top off of the machine to rescue it. The card I got for my last two days was Pluto. Not sure if I will get another AP in October or just wait until March. I'm pretty sure it will be best to wait and just pay for a regular ticket in October. I can get a spring, summer, Christmas, and possibly part/all of another spring trip, depending on how the break falls in 2014.

I have never had one chewed but plenty demagnetized. I know I have a magnetic personality but really???? :lmao:
Sounds like a plan on the AP. :thumbsup2

We enjoy the dance parties over in Tomorrowland. It's neat to see the characters in some different outfits, and the girls love to dance, of course. :cool1:

I think they are fun too. A great chance for me to act a little Goofy and worry about looking Goofy

Thanks for the pictures. One of these days, our Fantasyland pictures will not include scaffolds, bulldozers, and cranes, and it will be a fabulous place!

Soon all of our "old" pictures will be remember when ...

Pat, I am playing catch up yet again, but am all caught up.

I'm sorry you couldn't hook up with Marv and the two boys, but I think you did what was best for you and that was sleep. :thumbsup2

Love the photos of the old/new Dumbo area.

And I'm with you...I would love to wake up to that view at AKL every day for the rest of my life.

See, the annual pass....nothing but problems.

I didn't see Maurice's Popping Machine -- that's really cool. :thumbsup2 And my pictures of the construction consisted of the walls with whatever showed over the top. I was not willing to ride Dumbo for a better shot, but I'm glad you were!

:faint: I think I was 18 pages behind. How does that even happen?! :rotfl: (one crazy June, that's how!)

Sounds like Chris was in his 'too cool for Disney' stage where he really does like it, but wants to be cool too. I sincerely hope Henry never goes through that...but then again, we can just do beach trips and I can take solo trips, so hmmmm, maybe there is an upside. ;)

I am doing the same Kathy. Can't believe how busy I have become this summer. :confused3
I also know how much you have on your plate right now.

Every once in a while I to crash like that. Mostly allergy related. My body just need some time to rest up to fight the imaginary threats that are my allergies.:rotfl2:
Marv may forgive me- But I may have to bribe him with one of his favorite restuarants in the Charlotte Area but he needs to find time to collect.

Love the photos of the old/new Dumbo area.

I have some now from the New Dumbo but you will have to see how that went. ;)

Me too! Zebra butts every morning.
:lmao:

Problems I LOVE to have.:)

WEll let me just say your view from New Dumbo might not be much better than what you got. :rolleyes1:

I see you had a big move and it was not so smooth. :crazy2:

Glad you got internet back, finally. Chris was being a nudge and it was best just to just let him go off on his own. ;)

So sorry that Donald let you down. Hopefully Goofy was the "go to guy". I have to admit I'm a wuss. I've never ridden Dumbo or the Tea Cups, I just can't do round and round. I really wanted to give Dumbo a try but it was down when we went in February. Originally the new one was suppose to open, but it was pushed back.

I'm really looking forward to your July 4th trip report with all the little hints you've put out.

Donald that crazy duck. :joker:

I don't have trouble with round and round usually. Every once in a while it has bothered me and again I probably can blame that on head congestion. This weekend after allergy shots I am finding myself getting the spins when I stand up. :faint:

I need to wrap this one up and then I get started on the July trip. :thumbsup2

A visit to Tom Sawyer Island was in order.

Always heard about the bathroom on Tom Sawyer Island so I had to check it out.

Out to the fort

And another bathroom

The rest of the fort

IMG_3810.jpg

I think this was my first trip all the way back to the fort. :thumbsup2

I wandered back and through a mine.

IMG_3812.jpg

I always have to laugh because my glasses need to lighten up a bit before I can see in the dark so I always end up walking into a wall of a cave. :rotfl2:

It was almost lunch time.

A new one for me and of course some people watching and a story :p

I still can't believe we've never been to Tom Sawyer Island. :confused3

Great photos.

I hope Jordan is around to see your bathroom pictures ;)

I don't remember seeing all that at the Fort. I must not have been paying attention, or I was too busy looking for a paint brush :upsidedow

We love Tom Sawyer Island! Great picture of the skull in the caves. I've only used the bathroom in the Fort. Where is the other set?

I would go into the cave with you just to laugh when you walked into a wall, but since I don't do caves, that is a laugh I am going to have to miss out on. ;)

A new lunch venue, you say? I'll be interested to see what that is.

And a story?!?!? Alright!!! :tigger:

I can't see your pics now, but I just have to comment that I had no idea there were TWO bathrooms on TSI. And one of them is legendary? Good to know!

I guess I always assumed the bathrooms were more, ah, "latrine-like", out there on the island. I never dared to check them out.

So funny that someone's feet are visible in that one picture. Her feet are now TR stars in their own right! :rotfl2:

I admit, I love that bathroom at the Fort. An AC oasis!

:rotfl:

:lmao: Sometimes you need to grab AC when you can.

I still can't believe we've never been to Tom Sawyer Island. :confused3

Great photos.

Need to make time- Rocking chairs and some quiet time in a busy MK. Better during cooler months.

I didn't even think about checking the bathrooms over there.

I just had to. :lmao:

I think the first time I made it to the sign and turned around. I did not realize the horses and the chickens were in there either.

One set of bathrooms in the fort and the other are right as you get off the raft.

Lucky for you it usually happens right as I go in. My glasses are the ones that are also sunglasses so 2 steps in a usually crash because I forget. :rotfl2: I think you could position yourself without going in the cave and still hear and probably see enpugh to have a good belly laugh. :lmao:

Lunch coming right up!!! And the story.

One right where the raft unloads and one back by the fort. Not quite sure about ledgendary but if you are on the island with small children ( or Adults even ) and you gotta go then yes ledgendary might be appropriate.

Got to at least take a peek even if you don't need to actually use the facilities.

I did not realize there was someone there until after I snapped. :sad2:
At least it did not appear to be "in position" :rotfl2:

Nope not here today.

IMG_3813.jpg

Lunch was here.

IMG_3814.jpg

Chris and I checked in and had a short wait.

IMG_3815.jpg

We sat in the Main part of the room and it was a full restaurant. It was pretty loud. I am sure I was still fighting some congestion and may have still had a bit of a headache so I really noticed the noise. Chris was wiped out as well and I think at one point we both looked at each other and maybe wished we had a more quiet lunch.

Entertainment for the afternoon…

IMG_3816.jpg

Let’s just call her Pepper Girl.

She had the pepper shaker- How Do I know it was the pepper? Her mom made it very clear she was taking the salt away. She would shake the pepper into the ketchup and then dip her fry into it. Not just a little pepper but a lot – I could see it from our table.

Mom and Dad were a bit distracted with another child so every so often I would look up and see her LICK the pepper shaker and then shake into the ketchup and then dip. :scared:

Then it happened. She spilled her soda. Mom was quick on the draw and got her up so she would not be wet but then moved the booster seat and then switched out the chair.

Hello, the chair is vinyl so a quick wipe should have worked. I looked at the whole production and then looked at my just about adult son and was thankful he wasn’t licking the pepper or spilling his drink. :lmao:

My meal- may have been both of our meals since I can’t remember what he had.

IMG_3817.jpg

And of course dessert.

IMG_3818.jpg

Yes there are nuts. Some things I just can’t give up and don’t have any real reactions from. :rolleyes1

After lunch we headed to Tomorrowland.

Let me just say it was a bit crowded…

IMG_3819.jpg

IMG_3820.jpg

It was time for me to check in for our flight home. I had to find a relatively quiet spot so I could accomplish my goal.

Back there I had to go through the smoking section:smokin:

IMG_3821.jpg

I was by the TL bathrooms and the CoP.

I was also under the peoplemover where they announce the CoP.
I must have hear this 100 times

“We are now approaching Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress. Inside this rotating theater whole families welcome you into their homes of yesterday and today starting way back in the turn of the 20th century.”

I got to see Stitch and his friend walk backstage.

IMG_3822.jpg

Picked up a FP

IMG_3823.jpg

I can only assume that Chris went off on his own.

I believe this was the FP return line for Buzz. :scared:

IMG_3824.jpg

IMG_3825.jpg

IMG_3826.jpg

IMG_3827.jpg

Are you surprised?

IMG_3828.jpg

IMG_3829.jpg

I had 151,300 but I never did get a picture.

IMG_3834.jpg

This cracked me up….

IMG_3836.jpg

I think he was marking the end of the line..

IMG_3837.jpg

Because of the crowds I was going to head out. But I make it back to the resort or another park?

Ah yes, the pepper girl, distractions, and lunchtime messes. We commented when we were in the MK and saw (and heard) several cranky babies, how glad we were not to be in that stage of life anymore. Although the teen years have their issues too, doncha know.

Oh Brother! What a scene that must have been. I can honestly say we didn't have any pepper or ketchup issues with my nephews. I don't even think we had a spilled soda, a small miracle to say the least.

Be back later for pics.

What? Your trip is almost over. It can't be!:sad2:
