When in doubt, feed the bear....but not that!!!Day 6- Last day blues

Okay, now I'm also caught up on the latest update.

I LOVE the Plaza as you know (always our last meal before we leave THE World), but it can be very noisy in there since it is so small. I cracked up with the "Pepper Girl." Too funny. :rotfl::rotfl:

I think that day was a multitude of things. In July it was still a full house but did not seem as noisy. I am sure part of that was the way I was feeling and just having a chatty group in the restuarant.

Chris doesn't look very happy in the picture at the Plaza...did you not share your dessert with him? ;)

He was eager to dig in and was not happy having to wait for a picture. :lmao:

Wow...that is a LOT of people in Tomorrowland. I've never seen a line like that for the People Mover.

It was pretty insane.

Happy Birthday Pat! party: :bday: :cake: :jumping1:

Thank You MArv. I think you are getting a reply to yourself because of all your smilies. I love every one of them.

AHHHH finally caught up and just in time for another report to soon be started. I'm no going to comment because that could take awhile. I'm just going to say :cake:HAPPPY BIRTHDAY:cheer2:

Happy Birthday Pat! I hope you have a Magical Day!

Thank You for the Birthday wishes.

Feels like I have celebrating for a week now since I had friends take me out last Thursday, Saturday and my kids took me out last night.
I got a great surprise from Camille ( Millie ) and one of my swim instructors.
So much special this week, too hard to share it all.

I will share one highlight of my special day that happened this morning.
I was at one of our outdoor pools to do a training for the instructors on a new swim lesson program we are moving to this fall.
We offer free lessons at those pools that are mostly in lower income areas. Most of these kids would never have another opportunity to learn how to swim otherwise.

On Monday while observing everything going on I noticed one little boy who was upset. Not unusual for little kids. Trying to calm the kid I took him from the group and also since he was pretty much screaming Mommy mommy mommy and No the whole time I figured that instructor could use the break and I could move him so he would not bother the rest of the lesson.

I worked with him the whole 45 min and he screamed the whole time. I got him to calm a bit but he still screamed. :scared1:

Well today I was done and actually ready to leave and I saw that boy again, his name was Caleb. I got a big smile and a high five. Much better mood today. I stripped to my suit and got in with him again and he was all smiles and cooperative. :cool1::cool1: That was my bit of Disney today MeMom. :wizard:

He did not leave swimming but we made progress this morning.

He did not know the present he gave me this morning. :fish:

I apologize for not updating sooner. Hopefully this weekend, I have to work at our competition facility and well there is no competition going on so I will probably write up the rest of this trip and hopefully start the next one.

Oh while I watch the Olympics of course. ;)

Thank you for bearing with me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

hope it was great sorry i'm late!

I love the story of the little boy -- I can imagine how great it is to have a child go from screaming to actually enjoying being in the water! :thumbsup2

I did think of you yesterday while I watched a show on the Olympics -- of course they mentioned Michael Phelps. :goodvibes I am looking forward to the opening ceremonies tomorrow night!

Since I now supervise staff I don't always have he chance to teach anymore and while I can get burnt out when I am doing endless lessons, I do miss it.

Mom was appreciative and while most of our young instructors are good, Mom had no idea that he son had a basically 2 private lessons with an instructor trainer with over 30 years :scared: experience.
Nor did I tell her.

Some of the staff there were sort of surprised I was in the water since they usually don't see me in the water. My last place I was in hte water more but these guys at this pool are used to seeing me as the dry manager.

One guard made that comment that that kid had no idea that it was a special treat to have me in the water. :rotfl:

I am looking forward to watching the Olympics. Phelps will have his last glory since word is he is retiring after the Olympics. Ryan Lochte is the eye candy I usually get a eye full if when he comes to Charlotte.
One year the deck change practically in front of me  and this year I got a wink and I got to call him sassy. :lmao:

Also if you hear or see Ricky Berens.... Charlotte kid and he used to work for me. :upsidedow Should be in the 200 free and the relays.

Happy belated birthday! Awesome story about Caleb...I bet he always remembers the time you took to help him.

And go Missy Franklin! She is the pride of Denver.

Jill in CO

I'm so glad you had such a great day on your birthday. :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to the Olympics as well, I never really got into them as an adult until Ty was swimming in high school. My mom always made a big deal out of them when we were kids, hope I can pass that on to my kiddos.

Tyler knows a few of the girls on the USA team, he goes to or went to school with a couple of them from A&M. :thumbsup2

i love the olmpics as well.

very cool that you get to see some of the athletes when they come to your area...

in the last olmpics i went to school and ran track with the bronze medal and gold in the relay of the mens 4x400 team. me and another one of the team captains actually convinced him to continue with track and not drop out and look what it got him...so i claim a portion of that medal. lol:)

Love the story about the Pepper Girl. Kids can be so funny with their eating habits!

The spilling? not so funny. But thanks for sharing the story. It's a great image in my head now. :)

Being I almost stretched it out a week I am happy. :rotfl2:

It is a bit of a bummer that I am working this weekend but we have a TV in the classroom so I am sure I sneak in and I have something I can download on my tablet too so I may have to do that. ;)

Texas is another big swimming school. I hope we can see some good swimming. I heard with the heat they were having HVAC issues in the pool area. :crazy2:

Our big meet every year draws most of the elite athletes. Some are very sociable, like Ryan Lochte who is usually on deck and clowning around a bit and soem like Michael Phelps just stay to themslves. I respect that but Phelps is getting reputation for having an elitist attitude- i just think he wants his privacy and after the last time he got in trouble does not ant any ammunition to possibly use against him.

Cool about the track athlete. I know a kid around my DS age that I taught when he was 3. I hope in 4 more years he can actually make the team. He made trials this year. I will claim him. I already told his mother. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I knew kids who used to suck on lemons. :scared: I was intrigued that the mom was very vocal and adamant about taking the salt away but had no issue with the pepper. :confused3

The spill is just a fact of life but again the reaction to it was interesting. :confused3

I guess I once again apologize for not finishuing this up sooner. June was really busy and then July just about got away from me.

But stay tuned..... :)
