When I was young my fav TV shows were...

Okay - this is really going to show my age, but here goes..

Father Knows Best
Wagon Train
Leave It To Beaver
Bonanza

:faint:

I don't think there are many in our age group that can use the word conjunction w/o the theme song going through our heads. During one of my AP classes in HS there was a conjunction question. You could hear people humming the song till they got to the part they needed.

My son was very impressed that ancient me could still recite the preamble to the constitution, that is until I fessed up that I could only do it if I sang the Schoolhouse Rock version in my head. :)

My favorite was "I am only a bill". :)

LOL We ran into that at our house, too. I also fessed up, but not until I started saying it and DH started singing along with me.

Favorite kiddie shows
Kimba? The white lion
I kid you not, you are the first person I have ever met that remembers that show! I was in Kindergarten and my BFF at the time and I were addicted. I have always remembered it - DH thinks I'm nuts because I am always asking people if they remember it. Finally, I have been validated:laughing:

Last night my BFF and I were singing the SchoolHouse Rock songs showing DS that was how we can still remember stuff at our advanced ages. It all started when we were talking about how to remember things (cuz, I messed up an appt. and I rarely do that so I was mad at myself) and I mentioned the old "Kings Play Chess on Fine Green Sand" which DS immediatly recognized and filled in.

In the Detroit market, it was on during lunch time, or right after lunch. My mom thought it was violent. All I remember is absolutely LOVING that show!

You need to fill me on on the Kings play chess, line. What does it stand for? I constantly teach my kids these remembering methods, but I've never heard that one.
