Im reminded of this every time Kevin says hi to anthony.

When I was about 4 I realized that disney wasn't just for my family. It wasn't my family's name and disneyland wasn't built just for me. I always thought of disney(land and the brand name) as something very familiar and it reminded me of my family. When I realized that that it was shared by many people I was confused and kind of shocked. I thought that no one would appreciate and love it as much as me. I was a selfish little kid:cutie:

Now looking back at that, its kind of nice that disney can leave that kind of impression on a kid. Im very grateful that I've found these boards and many other people that I know love Disney just as much as me. Thanks!

I don't remember having those kinds of feelings as a child but I certainly do feel that way sometimes. I think that is what makes Disney so great. It is able to make people think that things are done just for you and that everyone else is not there.

WOOOHHH
Hold On!!
Are you telling me that all that is Disney was NOT created just for me? CelticBelle, I believe you may be mistaken. I am 44 and still believe Disney is mine. All mine. I am, however, willing to share. Just remember that it all about me.
:hippie:

I thought this way for awhile until I met my "college" boyfriend. His mom was a lifelong Disney fanatic and raised him that way (I guess that was the attraction!). To tell the truth it shocked me that someone else could speak so fluently about the parks, or had a different way of touring. I also ended up getting on better with his parents than him! :)

In a way it is a bit of territory. These parks mean so much to many different people that it is hard to not be a little territorial about them...:goodvibes

Oh its so true!

I didn't get to go enough to be 'my own', but i certianly claimed the movies as my thing.

They may call us weridos, but we just call us friends!

I think it was more of the movies that did it for me too. The D in disney really caught my attention and fascinated me. :rotfl2:
