When does your child's school get out for Christmas Vacation?

This year our last day is the 16th. Usually, we get out the Friday of the week before the week of Christmas. We generally have about a week off before Christmas.

Wish we had off a full week before Christmas. This year, our first day off is Dec. 23rd....and that is after a lot of people complained & we had a calendar change. The 1st time the calendar was distributed, we were scheduled to go on Dec. 23rd. Ridiculous!

We return on Jan. 3.

Wow. That is LATE! Forsyth Co is the 16th. I'm just trying to gauge how many kids get out that week.

Yeah, we got a full week at T-giving this year, and school started on Aug 10th( a Wed). If I had the chance I'd go right after school ends if I were in your shoes. As it stands right now, DH and I are debating whether we want to go in Oct 06 or one of the first 2 weeks in Dec 06. DD will be in 2nd grade but I'm not worried about the missed time yet.

Yeah, we got a full week at T-giving this year, and school started on Aug 10th( a Wed). If I had the chance I'd go right after school ends if I were in your shoes. We went Nov 29- Dec 7 this year and it was great. But, if we go on Dec 16th (day after school is out) we can stay longer because I won't be worried about them missing any days. So I think we'll just go then and stay 6 nights instead of 4 nights earlier in the month.

This year they go Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week a full day.. Thursday and Friday they go until noon.. So this is their last week.. Next week officially starts their break and school goes back on Jan 3rd

They had them going a full day right up to the 23, then changed it to a half day!

It's kinda crazy, but the teachers say they look forward to having the full two weeks off after christmas, the kids don't go back until the 9th!

Ft Lauderdale area's last day is 12/16 and they return on 1/2. They were suppose to return on 1/3 but are returning a day earlier because of making up Wilma days.

2005 - Wed Dec 21 through Mon Jan 2

2006 - Thu Dec 21 through Tue Jan 2

Western New York is off 12/23 - 1/2 this year. Some districts have to go in on the 23rd--ick! My daughter and I are off on the 23rd but not my husband. His school has to go an extra day. I miss having the two weeks off--it's going to fly by!

Here in our part of South Carolina: Christmas break begins with a half-day on December 21 ... they return January 10.

I guess we have the shortest break. There is a full day of school on 12/23. They go back on Tuesday 1/3. This is just north of Boston. My nephew in a nearby town gets out on 12/22 and so does my niece in NH and both go back 1/3.

Our 2 youngest are in a private Christian school and they get out this Friday, Dec.16th at 11:30am. My oldest is in public school and she has to go until the 21st. Youngest go back on Jan.2nd and oldest goes back on the 3rd. We are also planning on being back in the World from Dec. 17th-23rd! Cant wait and Im already planning also!!

Next year we are out Dec 22 - Jan 7th

That means we are heading to the House of Mouse both years for that first week of January.

They have a half day on Dec. 23rd and go back on Jan. 3rd. Doesn't give a lot of time to do much but they also get a week off in Feb. for Presidents week.
