I get so excited when I think about our upcoming trip:cheer2: to WDW. It really starts to hit me when I start seeing the exits off the Interstate for WDW (we drive). I start clapping in my seat and jumping up and down (I'm 39)!

Then when I walk into whatever resort we are staying at at WDW and I smell that "smell". The smell that is only Disney:cloud9: :cloud9:. Can't really describe the smell it's like Florida sunshine :sunny:, the Main Street Bakery:cake:, and the Epcot gardens:flower1::daisy:all rolled into one! The most perfect smell ever! It's the Disney smell....
Then I know I'm home!

For my first trip, it wasn't until we were walking up Main Street with the Castle in view. Then on most of our trips it has been when the Monorail pulls up, we get on and hear "Por favor mantengese alejado de los puertos" (sp?) as we usually stayed at the Poly. Now I think it's just the first time we walk up to the turnstiles, put in the AP and put our fingers in the biometric reader. Just feels like we're "home" again. Oh, and also hearing the music everywhere we go. You can just close your eyes and know where you are by what music is playing. Then I also have to agree about the "Disney Smell".

We always countdown as we enter the main gates coming from the airport in our car...then this past year we saw wishes the very first night...I was in tears...that did it for me...

There are a few moments for me - just going outside the airport in FL - very different feeling from MA.

For some its Main Street in MK but for me its entering the World Showcase - my favorite place in the world. I just love the relaxed pace, different atmosphere, live entertainment and meeting people literally from around the world. I have gotten smarter during recent trips, now my girls know now that my trip doesen't start until we hit the WS.

This trip we arrive late afternoon and my girls know we will hit Epcot first - but don't worry we will be at the gates of MK before rope drop on our second day (first full day) at WDW.

Oh and that will be Thursday - I am counting but still not dancing!!

I could go to Epcot, MGM and AK but I won't feel like I"m there until I've walked through the left hand tunnel under the train station and onto Main Street. I think that comes from growing up at Disneyland. It's just not Disney until I go through that tunnel.

As we drive from the airport and play the who can spot something on property thats officially Disney...anything counts from Mickey shaped street signs (I love those) to ToT or Spaceship Earth.

I start to feel the magic just driving in.

When I see the purple and red signs I am thrilled UNLESS I am headed off property. (smile)

PS, sure hope not too many were blown down as I will get lost!!

The first time I get on a Disney bus in the morning to go to a theme park. If I'm at an Epcot resort, I think it's the first time I walk through those turnstiles at the IG.

Whenever we arrive I have to see Cinderella's Castle. Either the view or drive by to see it--then I KNOW I'm at WDW!!!princess:

For me, there is a section of I-4 East Bound that has more trees in the center of it and as you go along you start seeing less and less commercial buildings, that's the point that I get super excited and know that I'm really close to my Disney exit. Then when I see the huge mickey shaped telephone pole I'm giddy to the point of no return! :teeth:

I'll let you know when we get there if I survive 13 days more of waiting!!! Seriously we are so excited none of us can stand it!

For me it's starts the minute I see the parking lot at MK. It brings back my first trip as a child in the 70's. I remember my grandmother hopping on the tram with me to get to the park, I remember the driver playing music, and the little quizes ..."can you name the seven dwarf's?" (since we now always take the bus, my children will have different memories). But the big one is The Castle.

as soon as we get within a half of a hour from WDW my stomach gets so sick...it has been that way since I was a little kid and I hope it never changes...extreme butterflies...but I love it!

For our family it's when we drive under the big sign heading towards the MK Parking lot. It's the one that goes over the road that says "Walt Disney World". My 3 kids all yell at the same time, "We're on Disney property, woohoo"! It's been the same since the first time we went to DW.

:teeth:

When we arrive at the gate at the WL and the security guard says "Welcome Home!".....

The minute we pass thru the big gates and we see those purple road signs. That's when we leave the real world behind and begin life in fantasyland! That's the moment we know we won't be venturing outside those gates until it's time to go home!

We drive too and the whole WDW thing hits us right when we cross over into Jacksonville, FL. We go bananas!!!! We sing and laugh all the way into Orlando. Just thinking about it makes we want to go bonkers!

This sounds really dumb, but, when we get
off of I-4 and head into the resort... there is a
leetle sign that says something like "end of county
maintenance".... which means that Disney (mickey) is taking care of the highway! My 2 DD's
and my DW start jumping up and down saying
that they're on Mickey's highway!!!!
That's when we know we're there!!!
