when does AAA release discounts for 2012

Just called reservations about booking for april and asked about any AAA discount and was told they are not out yet. Any clue as to when they were released in the past?

According to Mousavers the CAA/AAA rates for 2012 were released back on June 10, 2011.

When I called to get a AAA room-only rate for late April 2012, at first the CM told me that she didn't believe the rates were available yet. When I told her that I saw on the disBoards that someone had posted that the rates were indeed out, she had me hold while she checked with a supervisor.

When she returned, she quoted us a price at CSR that was 15% off rack rates for room only for April 22-28.

I didn't book at that time, I'm waiting to see if a better discount comes along. I'm hoping it does since the dates we're looking at are 2 weeks after Easter and I'm figuring that most spring breaks will be done by the last week of April.

I just call again no AAA rates for por April 9 to April 12. I asked him to check, he put me on hold, returned said no rates for that time. He told me to look for emails! really? This was the second call trying to get discount rate. I have cheep ressie at another resort for a different event, I think I will keep the 10 days intack till I see what ese pans out with Disney.

I just joined AAA so I am not familiar with booking with AAA discount as of yet. I understand that the AAA room only rates were announced but does that mean we can not book a package through AAA as of yet?

I called AAA yesterday and got a quote for a package (not including airfare) for April 21-April 29 2012.

My understanding is you can get a AAA-room-only-rate directly from Disney.
If you want a package, you have to book through AAA.

AAA packages come with a few tiny extra benefits as well.

Okay, so are these discount %s listed somewhere, or do you have to call to find out? We're planning a summer 2012 trip, and I'd like to know what the discount would be at the Poly - I'm thinking if it's less than 20%, I'm not going to book yet and hope for a better GP discount

You have to call. Usually about 10% for peak season. 15-20% off peak.

It's never going to beat a GP code if one does come out, but any savings is better than no savings in my book

Probably true, but the GP rate for this fall is only about 25% (for our dates and resort), so if I can book with a 20% discount, and not have to be checking daily for a GP discount, it's worth it to me
