Any ideas, insight, bus driver rumors or guesses as to when 2022 reservations will open up?

I don't know the answer, OKWNutt, but I'm waiting not-so-patiently also.

Curious what the 2022 rates will be. I wanted to go on my birthday in 2022, but maybe late March isn't the best time rate-wise or crowd-wise.

Im sure it will be a mess again when they open up also. When they opened the end of 2021 up i jumped in fast, or so i thought, the dates i wanted were gone. So if its a holiday or school break your after you may be disappointed. I think the travel agents book them all up. No way all the sites were gone in 30 mins of opening them up. But who knows.

Easter is very late next year (April 17th). I'm not sure how many schools tie their Spring Break to that week. They do near me. Late March may be OK crowd wise. As for prices, it is Disney, so I wouldn't expect them to go down. :worship:

We were looking for an April 18th checkin for next year but heard that is busy Easter season. Hopefully if we're successful, we'll be able to check in on April 24th, 2022 - let the pixie dust sprinkle on us favourably :tink:

Did you try calling or just online?
I did call - they have no idea when 2022 will open up.
She did say they will send out a mass email announcement when they do.
Not replying on that - I’m checking everyday.

I called today for something else and the rep said she didn't know either, just keep an eye on the Disney parks blog for an announcement.

We are booked for Dec 2021 at the fort. I would like to book in May 2022 as plan B! I really don't want to go when mask are required. December will be here before we know it. I really would like to be able to book for May soon because I think by this summer we will be able to predict what December will look like.

So no 499 day reserations right now huh? We had to move our reservations from this year and I was looking at Feb 2022, but I guess we have to wait and see.

I wonder why they don't have 2022 open? If Disney is open at all, there will be certain places open. You would think that they would allow reservations to those places now.
Only good thing for me is that I'll have an even chance as everyone else to get a reservation. I tried to reserve at about the one-year-ahead mark for a campsite and I've heard that is often too late.

But, if the spots are gone in a half-hour???? I probably won't be aware that quickly.

The holiday times like Halloween and Christmas-New Years are two of the ones that go fast.

I'm keeping an eye on the DIS Resorts board for threads regarding when 2022 will open for bookings. Folks over there are anxious too. Someone over there usually gets tipped off when windows open (packages in June for the following year, etc.) so try to monitor that.

If they open up 2022 in the next 2-3 months, I'm going to set the alarm clock and call early in the morning. It's about the most you can do.

So, they announce ahead of time that 2022 will open on X date? I was thinking their first announcement would be "2022 is open" I like the idea of some pre-warning.
Universal just seems to release their passholder rates without a pre-announcement.

For late 2021, it was just opened and someone discovered it and posted on the DIS. Several of us were at the DIS Meet in October last year when someone mentioned reservations for the 50th (October 1) were available. A number of us jumped on our phone and booked.

Well, word gets out in the travel industry and Disney sphere when Disney is about to release the next year's rates or increase ticket prices. And that word usually makes it onto the DIS - it's never confirmed in advance by Disney and it's occasionally wrong. So it's not an exact science.

Disney rarely "announces" anything like that in advance.

If you're focused on a busy time, it's always good to book a campsite as soon as you can when you know your plans.

Not really a busy time but we were wanting tent camping for two+ weeks in late Jan/early Feb 2022. Time period can shift depending on availability.

Originally our trip was going to be Jan 2021 and the other family going with was supposed to make the reservations. She dragged her feet. I couldn't get it across to her that booking an RV site at Disney wasn't like booking a random hotel room. She was worried about the deposit. Around Feb 2020 I got fed up and tried to make them myself, but they were all booked. But, it was just as well, since we aren't interested in the decreased Disney experience. Jan 2022 won't be with that family, and I don't want to same thing to happen.

2022 is open now to book online and by phone 499 days to your check in date, so that would be as of today a check in date of June 30. I checked and it is available on line. Good luck
