The calendar shows available but not available. October 1 is open May 20 this year. I called at 7:10 this morning for October reservations already Now to wait. :hourglass

Disney reps on the phone this weekend told me to check the Disney parks blog online and there would be an announcement. Of course I knew that probably wouldn't happen, but I didn't check the Resorts thread either.

The rates for the same week for me the end of Jan-1st week of Feb are about $40 more a night, whoa

Up through 2020, junkie, that last week of January (and even into February) was still a value rate period. But for 2021, Disney move the start of the higher spring rates from around Valentine's Day back to start the last week of January. So they may keep that pattern going for 2022.

We won't know until they officially release 2022 rates (when 2022 packages can be booked).

Easter is very late next year (April 17th). I'm not sure how many schools tie their Spring Break to that week. They do near me. Late March may be OK crowd wise. As for prices, it is Disney, so I wouldn't expect them to go down. :worship:

Turns out a mid-week March full hookup is more expensive than a room at All-Star Movies the same dates. And they will probably later discount the hotel but not the campsite.

You'll have to add dining plan to that for food, which is where I come out cheaper staying at the Fort. I eat very little Disney food. Also, during the spring breaks high school bands and cheerleader groups are there to take part in parades and those values are where a lot of them are put when they book groups. Haven't stayed at the values during that time, but have seen posts over on resort threads about it being a mess with the large groups. Never paid too much attention to the discounts on the values, but during that time of year and crazy busy as it is not sure they will discount those dates. Again, never paid much attention but with the large numbers of groups usually the values don't have much problem filling up.

I'm booking both 2nd and 3rd week of March since I don't know yet when our spring break will be. My oldest DD is with the band and they go each year so I know we'll need to be there to watch. I'll just cancel whichever week we don't need.

I hate idea of spring break because the crowds make getting anything done near impossible unless you make rope drop, but can't miss DD in a parade.

Rates reflect demand. I wonder why Movies is the least popular of all the Value resorts compared to the others?

I've never stayed in a Disney Value level hotel although I have been to AoA and seen its food court, lobby area, and pool scene. So hard for me to understand.

PS - I get it that Pop and AoA rates get a nice demand bump because of Skyliner. I guess that just narrows it down to Movies compared to the other All Stars.

Movies might be the most popular of the All-Stars, but it is the only one of the All-Stars open at this time. The others aren't taking reservations, even for 2022. Music has family suites but Movies is the only fully remodeled one to have rooms like Pop. We liked the setup of the room and proximity of McDonald's, but hate using the busses right now. I guess in the pandemic the campground has gotten especially popular. I know I prefer having my own space in the campground right now, but in the past, for shorter trips we stayed in hotels since my Prius gets much better gas mileage than the RV.

:rotfl2: I bet the mpg calculation RV-vs-Prius isn't even close (however you do it for an electric vehicle).

And I am completely ignorant about the hotels and what's open/closed or which All Star has rooms like Pop. That's not on my radar.

I'll bet Disney will be glad when they can open all the hotels to reservations.

Thanks for the explanation. ED

I also booked March 2022 today. Hopefully we can meet up. Gonna be a great trip, first time without offspring!!!

Is POP an All Stars? I'm a Fort only person, but FYI POP is taking reservations, DD2 and BF are booked for 11-2021
