I was just wondering when do you start to pack for your trip? We have started to get the cases out and have begin to pack. We currently have 81 days till we leave this has been our usually and never have forgotten anything, knock on wood. We go Through the list of things that we have packed over and over again. sometimes I think we are obsessive about Disney.

Obsessive? With the suitcases out almost three months before your trip...nooo!

If I had the space, I wouldn't mind doing the same thing. Where do you keep the suitcases while they are out for 81 days? I don't have any rooms that are not in use and I have a 4BR/3BA house and there are only two of us. I have to say I wouldn't even consider using the upstairs BR or loft since everything I would be packing is on the first floor. DH is recovering from major surgery, so he is using the downstairs guest room at this time, and that is where I plop my suitcase about a week before we leave. My DH on the other hand packs the night before we leave. It drives me crazy! Even with me starting to pack a week in advance, he still finishes before I do.

I don't pack until a day or two ahead. I have a list so I don't forget things and I have an Owner's Locker so lots of stuff is already there. Our dog gets upset when he sees suitcases so we always wait as long as possible to pull the suitcases out.

I'm laughing because 15 years ago when our girls were little I did the same thing. But, honestly, for me, doing that was part of the fun of the trip.

Start packing??? I don't understand...

I'm still 1/2 packed from my last trip... When do we unpack is my question? I've got all the necessities in there ready to go (ponchos, autograph books, bathing suits, meds ... ) Next trip is only 90 days away - I don't see the point to it :rotfl:

We are not half pack, but do the same thing. With owners locker the pile is getting real small. Some things maybe a replacement for what we used up or needed after the locker was picked up. Normally around a month out we start getting serious about putting things to pack. In the winter shorts and such will get started earlier.

We usually start a week or so ahead of time. I guess it depends on the time of year, too. If it's cooler/cold here (New England) I can pack shorts, etc. for Orlando weather much further in advance. I'm actually in the process of packing now as we leave 1 week from today. Seven days from right now I'll be having dinner at Whispering Canyon :thumbsup2 !

Happy packing, everyone! :goodvibes

I pack early....I am at 37 days and I started to put a few things in the suitcase that I know I won't be using before the trip: my MNSSHP costume, shorts (cause I live in Boston and summer is over! LOL).....Plus it makes me feel like the trip is even closer than it is, when I start to pack:goodvibes....I've already got the camera in the carry on...I have all my cards, DDE, AP, etc all together in my carry on.

I'm packed already lol...we leave next Wednesday.

When we went away for the wedding I packed a month before.I'm crazy.

^No, that isnt crazy, thats sensible....If I was packing for my wedding there, I'd be OCD about everything! I'd have been too nervous to wait...LOL....

I know right!!! I was so nervous i would forget something so I packed and got it done early just to be sure lol.

I sometimes think that is a huge part of all of it. Room to keep cases? we have a Disney room, doesn't everyone have a Disney room? LOL, like I said we are a little obsessive. We just finished our new house and one of the rooms was designated a DISNEY room.

I like to pack about a month before because it helps me figure out where the "holes" are in the outfits and accesories. When I see what is missing, I go shopping and buy what is needed instead of buying a lot of clothes that I might not need.

With little ones, I also like to try their clothes on to see what fits and then shop accordingly. The problem is that we always travel in February and warm weather clothing can sometimes be hard to find. Even in sunny California!

I have a guest bedroom that I use for my big mess. I make outfit piles on the bed, add hair bows, necklaces, etc and then pile that in the suitcase the night before. I have 130 days to go but believe me, I could get started now!

It depends. My husband usually starts before me because he doesn't wear his disney stuff as much as I wear mine. So, he started a few weeks ago for our october trip. I'm going to start this week. I've already made several lists though, which is important to me.

I usually start setting a few things in the Guest bedroom as i think of them - could be a month or two in advance - but most of the packing happens the day before we go. We don't have enough clothes to pack much sooner than that because we usually go for a week or more when we go. However the mental preparations and the trying on of the clothes will happen during the weeks before we go. I always say i'm going to start earlier the next time because i usually end up getting a few hours of sleep the night before we go because i am up so late packing. Maybe someday I will actually start earlier.:cheer2:

If my flights in the morning I would pack about now (10 PM)

If my flights in the afternoon and I don't have to work I would pack in the morning. If I have to work it's 10 pm the night before.

Takes me 20 minutes MAX. Of course a lot of stuff is in the Owners Locker, but before that it probably took 25 minutes!

I'm SO with CarolA, and we have two kids! Seriously, when we went for a 2 week trip a month or so ago (1 week at Daytona and 1 week at VWL), my husband and I packed us and both kids at 10:00 AM. Our flight left at 2:30 PM!

Honestly, the kids take longer packing what they personally want to take to play with than DH and I spent packing all 4 of us! ;) I'm a project manager, so I have the list, know the list, and pack the list quickly. The list almost never changes, so I'm good to go! Sounds like I may have to start the project plan a day early, though, so the kids won't stress out! :rotfl:

We have some stuff that is dedicated "WDW" stuff that we just leave in the suitcase all the time. The rest of it I pack 12 days ahead. That guarantees I will have one weekend at home AFTER I have packed everything to make sure I don't run across anything I forgot.
I have a bit of a shopping addiction, so my whole family has more than enough clothes to pack 2 weeks worth of stuff and still have stuff to wear on the days before we leave.:rolleyes1

We have 6am fights on Thursday, so probably pack around 9pm Wednesday .

I have to tell you that this is just crazy to me!

I packed for my 6 month exchange student stay in England in a 1/2 hour about 3 hours before my plane took off, and I now pack for our 2+ week stays at WDW in about the same time. We do not have an Owner's Locker and we fly all the way across country with a bag or two each and one carry-on each. I understand the ritualistic nature of it for some of you, but it still seems nuts to begin more than a few hours early. I use most of the stuff I pack regularly so how could I pack it months early? And your clothes must look like hell after being packed for months!

I just don't get it!?!
