We'll be staying at Paradise Pier for only one night in October. We will arrive by rental car Monday afternoon, we will go to the parks for a full day on Tuesday and we'll leave when the parks close and spend the night near the airport to take an early flight next morning. DLR will close at 6 pm and DCA will close at 8 pm but WoC is at 8:15 pm, so I expect to leave the parks around 8:45 pm or so. Tuesday has MM at 7 am, so we will be in line around 6:30 am, so I'm not sure how you do this. Do you check out at 6 am and store your luggage or do you take it to your car? Or do you go the parks, return around 11 am to check out and store your luggage or take it to the car? Can we even store our luggage from 6 am to 9 pm? Since we'll have only one day I don't really like the idea of leaving the parks, but if it's the only way to do it, be it so. What has worked for you?

I am pretty sure you can store your luggage for that long but I am not positive. We checked out on a MM day. We went to the parks for opening and then came back around 10:30 to rest for a bit and then we put the luggage in the car. The parking garage seemed secure. Enjoy.

Since your car won't be close at the GCH, I would leave it with the baggage check while you are in the parks.

If you are planning to spend the day in the park, I would definitely check out in the AM, drop your bags at the bell desk, and hit the parks. They will hold them for ya all day no problem...(they want ya to go spend money...and get out of the rooms early to flip them!)

Twice I have gone back to the room late AM to check out, and twice regretting not just checking out first thing in the morning. Defiantly was a pain to plan on getting back to the hotel in time and threw a wrench in the plan for the day. Now if I am hitting the park on a check out day, I ALWAYS check out first, drop my bags, and hit the park on my own timeline.

Even if we check out at 6:00 am or maybe even earlier? Can we drop the bags that early? I rather do this than return to the hotel.

You'd be surprised how early some people check out in order to leave for the airport to catch an early flight. Not my idea of a good time, but for a long flight it's sometimes necessary.

Thanks! We will do that then. I'll try to plan for only 2 suitcases for the whole family, so that it'll be easier to handle early check out and to leave our bags, instead of leaving 4 or 5!! ;)

I know this will be a fast and exhausting visit, but I can't wait!!! :cool1:

I'm curious as to if you can access Magic Morning if you check out early, and if so, how? (Probably won't be an issue on my trip, since my mom is never a good early riser and I can only manage it for Disneyland, but curious. :) )

Yes, it's no problem. We've done it. You check out of the hotel (DLR hotel) and you keep your KTTM (hotel room key card, which Disney calls your "Key to the Magic") cards. Your KTTM card is personalized for you, printed with each guests name on their own card and it's meant as not only a room key but a keepsake of your trip that you take with you when you leave. Show your KTTM card when you get to the turnstile and they will admit you for Magic Morning (you also need a valid park ticket).

Check out from where exactly? Job, hobby, hotel, affair, life?

How long should I plan out for check out and is it possible to check out the night before? I'm asking because I don't really know if there's paperwork to do or what exactly do you do for check out. The hotel is going to be paid already and at other hotels I usually get the night before a statement and only if you have questions you go to check out, but you can just leave if everything is ok. How about at PP?

If I remember right, you don't need to go to the desk to check out of any of the DLR hotels, but if you're storing luggage, it will take a few mins for bell services to collect it from your room and give you a claim check.

They will put the bill under your door during the night. If the bill is correct, you don't need to do anything (just walk out, LOL). When you get up, check the bill for accuracy. If everything is fine there is no need to even stop by the front desk (it will say that on the bill) . When you are ready to leave, either call the bellman or walk the bags downstairs to the bell desk and head out to the parks. Very easy. :thumbsup2

You can leave your bags with them all day. They will just be placed in a holding area until you return.

Great to know, and hooray for a free souvenir! :rotfl: Thank you!

Just wanted to add a "yep" to the idea that there's no need to do any official checkout process. (I've actually never dealt with a hotel where there WAS a need...even in the old metal key days, we would just leave the key on the TV stand or wherever, and leave)

And you can save the waiting time if you bring your bags down to bell services on your own.

Parking is good until midnight that night.
